We're looking for a Product Designer who thinks beyond pixels and screens, focusing on outcomes, solving complex problems, and creating meaningful user experiences. At Qualys, you'll own the end-to-end design experience for a product area, from identifying opportunities and shaping product strategy to delivering intuitive, scalable solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Product Ownership & Strategy

• Own the end-to-end user experience for a product area, from discovery and problem definition to design delivery and continuous improvement.
• Contribute to product strategy and roadmap discussions, bringing a strong design and user-centric perspective.
• Proactively identify user pain points, experience gaps, and opportunities for innovation.
• Make informed design decisions and trade-offs, balancing user needs, business objectives, and technical feasibility.
• Translate complex product requirements into intuitive, scalable, and impactful user experiences.

User Research & Analysis

• Plan and conduct user research through interviews, surveys, usability testing, and behavioral analytics.
• Develop user personas, journey maps, workflows, and use cases to understand user needs and challenges.
• Translate research findings and data into actionable insights that influence product direction and design decisions.
• Validate design solutions through iterative testing, feedback, and measurable outcomes.
• Use both qualitative and quantitative research methods to continuously improve the user experience.

Design Excellence & Innovation

• Create user flows, wireframes, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity designs for complex web and mobile applications.
• Design scalable, intuitive, and accessible experiences, following established design principles and WCAG standards.
• Contribute to the evolution and maintenance of design systems, ensuring consistency and efficiency across products.
• Iterate on designs based on user feedback, research, analytics, and stakeholder inputs.
• Leverage AI-powered tools to accelerate research synthesis, explore design concepts, generate ideas, and build prototypes.
• Actively experiment with emerging AI tools, including Figma Make, Claude, and equivalent technologies, to improve design quality, productivity, and team efficiency.
• Stay informed about evolving design trends, AI capabilities, and emerging interaction paradigms, incorporating them where they create meaningful value.

Cross-functional Leadership

• Represent design in product discovery, sprint planning, prioritization, and execution discussions.
• Partner closely with Product Managers and Engineering Leads to define problems, explore solutions, and shape product direction.
• Influence product decisions by articulating design rationale, user needs, business impact, and technical considerations.
• Drive alignment across cross-functional stakeholders, including senior leadership and C-suite executives.
• Take ownership of design outcomes and proactively address challenges throughout the product development lifecycle.

Collaboration & Communication

• Collaborate with engineering, product management, and QA teams to ensure design intent is translated accurately into the final product.
• Communicate design decisions, concepts, and recommendations clearly through presentations, prototypes, and documentation.
• Provide constructive feedback, share design expertise, and mentor fellow designers.
• Contribute to a collaborative design culture that encourages experimentation, continuous learning, and design excellence.

Required Skills & Experience

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Design, UX, Interaction Design, Communication Design, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience in Product Design, with a portfolio demonstrating ownership of complex product challenges from discovery through delivery.
• Experience working in cross-functional product teams, collaborating closely with Product Managers and Engineers.
• Demonstrated ability to connect design decisions to measurable user and business outcomes.
• Experience designing enterprise B2B applications; familiarity with cybersecurity products or complex technical domains is a significant advantage.

Design & Technical Skills

• Strong proficiency in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and modern prototyping tools.
• Solid understanding of interaction design, information architecture, visual design, and usability principles.
• Hands-on experience with qualitative and quantitative user research methods.
• Familiarity with product analytics tools and the ability to use data to evaluate and improve UX performance.
• Experience creating and maintaining scalable design systems and component libraries.
• Working knowledge of accessibility standards, including WCAG, and their practical application.
• Understanding of HTML, CSS, responsive design, and front-end development constraints to collaborate effectively with engineering teams.
• Familiarity with emerging technologies such as AI-driven interfaces, conversational experiences, and other new interaction paradigms is an advantage.

AI & Emerging Technologies

• Proficiency in AI-powered design tools, including Figma Make, Claude, and equivalent platforms, with practical application in the daily design workflow.
• Ability to leverage AI for research synthesis, ideation, concept exploration, rapid prototyping, and workflow optimization.
• Curiosity and willingness to experiment with emerging AI capabilities and identify opportunities to improve product experiences and design processes.
