Mō te tūranga | About the Role
As an experienced Senior Platform Engineer, you will lead the evolution of our operating system image management and automation capabilities across enterprise infrastructure.
This is a technical role where you'll drive the design, implementation, and continual improvement of our automated operating system build and configuration management platforms. You'll play a key role in implementing and enhancing our Image Factory capability.
Working within a collaborative engineering environment, you'll help deliver secure, standardised, and automated operating system platforms that support both on-premises and cloud-based services.

Essential Skills
Strong experience in infrastructure, platform engineering, or systems engineering environments.
- Experience designing, developing, and delivering end-to-end automation solutions, from requirements gathering and solution design through to implementation, testing, deployment, and operational support.
- Strong base knowledge of Windows and Linux Operating Systems particularly around build standards, provisioning, patching, upgrade planning, vulnerability remediation, and compliance.
- Strong experience with infrastructure automation and configuration management tools including Packer, Terraform, Ansible.
- Strong scripting and automation capability using PowerShell, Python, Bash, or similar languages.
- Expertise with source control and collaborative development practices using Git, GitHub, or Bitbucket.
- Experience implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, CloudBees, GitLab CI and Azure DevOps.
- Experience supporting highly available, resilient, and secure enterprise platforms.
Desirable Skills
- Experience with VMware technologies, particularly: VMware vSphere, VMware Aria Suite.
- Experience with containerisation technologies including Docker and Kubernetes.
- Understanding of networking fundamentals including: VLANs, Subnets, Firewalls.
- Experience working within Agile methodologies and practices.
- Experience working with vulnerability management and patching platforms including Nessus, Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM), Red Hat Satellite
- Experience working within a complex or highly regulated environment.
- Exposure to cloud platforms and hybrid infrastructure environments.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
