Responsibilities:
Administer Oracle Database across 10g, 11g, 12c, and 19c releases, including performance monitoring, tuning, patching, upgrades, CPU/PSU installations, and database cloning
Install and configure Oracle RDBMS software across development, test, and production environments
Design and implement backup, restore, and disaster recovery strategies using RMAN and related tools
Monitor database health, capacity, and growth trends; proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks
Manage database security, including user access, roles, privileges, and auditing
Troubleshoot and resolve Oracle database issues, including connectivity, replication, locking, and corruption
Implement and maintain high availability solutions (RAC, Data Guard, Standby databases)
Automate routine DBA tasks using scripts (Bash/Python) to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort
Collaborate with developers, QA, and infrastructure teams on schema design, query optimization, and release deployments
Maintain documentation for database configurations, standard operating procedures, and incident runbooks
Provide 24x7 on-call support for mission-critical Oracle databases in production, ensuring rapid incident response and resolution
Required Qualifications:
9+ years of overall IT experience, including 4+ years specifically in Oracle database administration, configuration, and troubleshooting
Strong hands-on experience with backup, restore, and recovery techniques (RMAN, hot/cold backups, point-in-time recovery)
Solid understanding of Oracle architecture, memory management, and storage (ASM, tablespaces, redo/undo)
Experience with database patching, upgrades, and migrations across major Oracle versions
Familiarity with performance tuning tools (AWR, ADDM, SQL Trace, TKPROF)
Working knowledge of high availability and DR concepts (RAC, Data Guard)
Competent in scripting (Bash required; Python a plus) for automation and monitoring
Strong collaboration skills to work closely with Developers, QA, and Oracle Support
Ability to work independently and handle production incidents under pressure
English level: Pre-Intermediate or higher
Would be a plus:
Experience with Oracle GoldenGate for real-time data replication
Experience with document-oriented databases (Mongo/Percona, PostgreSQL )
Exposure to cloud-based Oracle deployments (OCI, AWS RDS for Oracle, or Azure)
Oracle certifications (OCA/OCP
