Sobre este puesto de Senior Mechanical Platform Engineer en LEGO
Job Description
Just imagine a mould platform concept becoming the standard used across high-volume production. Then make it real.
About the role
As our Senior Mechanical Platform Engineer, you'll help turn innovative platform concepts into standardised, production-ready solutions at the LEGO® Group. You'll work between architectural direction and the engineering and production teams who manufacture and operate moulds. Your designs won't stay in a single tool. Once released, they'll become part of the standard used across high-volume moulding. You'll contribute to next-generation platform development, creating 3D and 2D designs, supporting risk reduction activities, and working closely with production teams to ensure new technology is implemented and continuously improved.
We offer a hybrid working model called Best of Both: three days in our Billund office and up to two days from home. No relocation assistance is offered for this role.
Required Qualifications
- Delivered complex mould designs and resolved non-standard mechanical design challenges
- Created 3D and 2D mechanical designs using Siemens NX or similar.
- Applied manufacturing process expertise to improve design quality, cost, lead time, or assembly outcomes
Preferred Qualifications
- Applied systems engineering principles in product or platform development
- Built and evaluated tolerance chain and tolerance stack analyses
- Worked with moulding processes and material selection in manufacturing environments
What you'll build
- Design concept moulds and components that support future platform standards
- Support risk reduction through DFMEA and PFMEA activities
- Partner with production and value chain specialists to implement new technology and feed learning back into standards
- Help balance innovation, manufacturability, productivity, cost, and long-term platform performance
- Contribute from week one and progress towards owning end-to-end design packages independently
If you've worked in a role where you've designed complex moulds, evaluated supplier proposals, optimised manufacturing outcomes, and learned from production challenges, you'll feel at home here. What matters most is taking ownership of outcomes and using sound engineering judgement to make practical trade-offs.
Life on the team
You'll join the MD Mould Platform team in Operations, where we turn business needs into robust, modular platforms. Our work is closely connected to the full value chain, helping new technologies move from development to large-scale production. We work in end-to-end platform teams, combining technology and business value from idea through implementation. Our hybrid rhythm includes two-week sprints, manageable backlogs, and an environment where every opinion is heard. You'll be encouraged to show initiative, work independently, communicate effectively across functions, prioritise work thoughtfully, and contribute to continuous improvement.
What success looks like
Success means mastering the challenge of making innovative platform concepts both manufacturable and standardised while maintaining productivity, cost efficiency, and long product life. Over the next 12 to 18 months, the team will continue developing end-to-end platform ownership and advance new mould and hot runner concepts towards standard solutions. You'll work closely with senior engineers, engineering architects, platform project managers, and specialists across the value chain and production sites to shape the next generation of mould platforms.
Applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis. However, please note we do amend or withdraw our jobs and reserve the right to do so at any time, including prior to any advertised closing date. So, if you're interested in this role we encourage you to apply as soon as possible.
