We're seeking a Senior Manager to lead a specialist team responsible for the end-to-end breach reporting process.

This is a highly visible leadership role offering the opportunity to influence risk outcomes, shape best practice breach reporting and engage directly with senior executives, governance committees and regulators.

As the leader of our Breach Assessment function, you'll oversee the investigation, assessment, and reporting of potential regulatory breaches, ensuring matters are managed in a timely, consistent and defensible manner.

You'll play a critical role in driving continuous improvement across breach reporting, governance and risk management practices. You will provide expert guidance on complex regulatory matters, challenge business stakeholders where required, and ensure reporting obligations across ASIC, APRA and other relevant regulatory frameworks are met.

What you'll do

• Lead the breach assessment function, coach and develop a high-performing team of breach assessment specialists.
• Oversee intake, triage, investigation governance and breach determination processes.
• Ensure timely assessment and reporting of potential regulatory breaches and reportable situations.
• Review and challenge breach assessments to ensure factual accuracy, robust analysis and regulatory defensibility.
• Maintain oversight of regulatory reporting deadlines, investigation progress and remediation outcomes.
• Prepare and present high-quality reporting and recommendations to senior leadership, executive committees and governance forums.
• Drive enhancements to the breach reporting framework, controls, quality assurance processes and management information.
• Partner with Legal, Risk, Internal Audit and business stakeholders to achieve effective compliance outcomes.
  

What we're looking for

• Extensive experience within breach assessment, incident management. 
• Proven leadership experience of a team within the compliance function overseeing breach assessments, incident management, regulatory reporting or similar high-risk decision-making functions.
• Strong knowledge of ASIC reportable situations, AFSL/ACL general obligations, APRA breach notification and prudential standards, Banking Code breach assessment and reporting.
• Demonstrated capability assessing complex regulatory matters, applying significance tests and producing regulator-facing submissions.
• Exceptional stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with confidence engaging with senior executives and regulators.
• Strong analytical, decision-making and problem-solving capabilities.
• Outstanding written communication and executive data insight reporting.
• Navigate ambiguity with confidence, using sound judgement and a solutions-focused mindset to resolve complex challenges.
