About The Role
This role is a senior member of the in-house travel sales team, responsible for managing travel for a select group of high-touch, VIP clients while supporting the Director of Travel Sales and broader advisor team. The ideal candidate is an experienced travel advisor who can independently manage client relationships and deliver thoughtful, highly personalized service.
Responsibilities include owning and growing client accounts, proactively managing travel needs, converting inquiries into bookings, and identifying opportunities to deepen client relationships and drive repeat business. This person will guide clients through hotel and destination recommendations, develop compelling proposals, and manage the sales process from initial inquiry through booking. They will also serve as a resource to the team, helping with complex client requests and sharing destination and product knowledge.
A key part of the role is helping us work smarter. This person should be highly comfortable with AI and empowered to identify inefficiencies, test new tools and approaches, and help incorporate successful solutions into our everyday workflows. A successful candidate will have a proven track record of creating and implementing AI solutions with their teams, and will be able to craft new solutions as well as document and communicate to other teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and grow a portfolio of high-touch VIP client accounts — managing the full sales cycle from inquiry through booking, including proposals and hotel/destination recommendations, with a book of $2M+ in annual travel.
- Act as a senior resource to the broader advisor team, helping with complex client requests and sharing destination and product expertise.
- Identify workflow inefficiencies and drive the adoption of AI tools and solutions — testing new approaches, implementing what works, and documenting/training others on it.
- Support the Director of Travel Sales with VIP client coverage.
- Coordinate ground transportation, excursions, and special requests for VIP clients.
- Stay current on travel trends, hotel openings, and destination developments to provide clients with cutting-edge recommendations.
Requirements
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree
- 4+ years of experience as a travel advisor
- Proven track record managing $1M+ in annual bookings
- Proficiency with AI tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT, or similar platforms)
- Experience communicating directly with high-net-worth or VIP clients in a service or sales capacity
- Experience with Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom, or similar collaboration tools
Compensation
Compensation for this role varies based on experience, with an indicative range of $90K–$120K + commission + equity. Final compensation will depend on the level at which the candidate is hired, as we’re considering multiple levels for this role.
