Job Description:

A Senior Geotechnical Engineer is required to provide technical expertise and to lead the geotechnical engineering efforts on a major Rail Transit project for the Program Management / Construction Management.

The Senior Geotechnical Engineer will support the Design Management Group in performing geotechnical related design reviews and conventional and moderately-complex geotechnical engineering assignments, applying engineering techniques and analysis.

Responsibilities will include reviewing, coordinating and monitoring the works of the design consultants, comparing earthwork and geotechnical related designs with project specifications.

This is a senior level position for a candidate with a strong track record in leading Geotechnical Engineering teams on large civil infrastructure projects.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Leading a team of Geotechnical Engineers and working with Design Consultant staff and the PM/CM engineering staff on complex engineering solutions related to tunnels, deep excavations and diaphragm walls.
• Reviewing geotechnical designs and earth structures for urban excavations and mechanically stabilized earth walls for conformance to the project specifications and requirements
• Reviewing and providing technical recommendations and direction for subsurface investigation at project sites
• Conducting and reviewing field exploration and assessments, sampling, soil classification inspections, analysis and technical support
• Performing and reviewing specialized geotechnical analysis for engineering properties of soil and rock, shallow and deep foundations, ground improvement, earth pressure, liquefaction analyses, geo-synthetics and earthquake induced ground deformation
• Evaluating, selecting and applying standard engineering methods, techniques, procedures and criteria
• Performing and reviewing grading drainage and slope stability analysis, liquefaction and lateral spreading
• Analyzing and reviewing bids and making recommendations
• Ensuring the quality control system is actively applied to all geotechnical work

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering is required
• At least 10 years of relevant experience on large civil construction projects
• A proven track record in geotechnical investigation management and interpretation and the design of deep and shallow foundations, piles, retaining walls, tunnels, and other related infrastructure
• Knowledge in project management, client liaison and engineering reporting
• A thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations
•  Strong understanding of  geotechnical engineering analysis software such as gINT, Plaxis, Slope W, Seep W and Piglet
• A proven track record in managing a team of geotechnical engineers
• Strong client & staff relationship building skills and an ability to influence and coach others
• Good written and verbal communication skills for clear, concise report writing

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

• GCC experience  with KSA experience preferred
• Experience in railway, transit or related projects
• Registered as a professional engineer or having achieved chartered status (or equivalent) within a relevant professional association
