SoloPulse Corp is a dual-use radar company committed to the relentless exploration of the frontiers of radar sensing technology. Located in Atlanta, GA, SoloPulse stands as a venture-backed startup, diligently cultivating strategic collaborations to proactively address critical safety imperatives and emerging autonomy needs across both civilian and military domains. Our distinguished team encompasses accomplished engineers, seasoned advisors, and experienced startup veterans, collectively driven by an overarching mission to change the way the world sees.
SoloPulse is seeking a Senior Frontend Engineer to build the operator-facing software for our radar systems. Our sensors output detections, tracks, and imagery products at high rates, and users need to work with that output in real time, often on limited hardware and unreliable networks. You will build the web applications they use, along with the integrations that carry our output into the systems they already run, including TAK and customer C2 and autonomy platforms. You will work with radar and embedded engineers on the data contracts behind the product and with end users on the workflows in front of it.
Key Responsibilities
Design and build production web applications for real-time RF output visualization, including live detections and tracks, spectrogram displays, geospatial overlays, and post-mission playback and review
Own features end to end, from problem framing and interaction design through implementation, field validation, and iteration
Engineer for performance at high data rates: streaming ingest, efficient rendering, memory discipline, and smooth interaction on modest field hardware
Define and shape the APIs and data contracts between the frontend and our embedded and backend systems, in partnership with the teams that build them
Build and maintain integrations that deliver SoloPulse detections and tracks into the systems our users already operate, including TAK (ATAK, WinTAK, iTAK, and TAK Server) over Cursor on Target, along with customer C2, autonomy, and ISR platforms
Own the interoperability layer end to end, including standards-based message formats, publish and subscribe interfaces, and the adapters, plugins, and SDKs that let partners and integrators consume our data
Partner with integrators and government end users during integration events and demonstrations, and turn what breaks in those environments into durable product improvements
Work directly with operators, test engineers, and customers to translate real workflows into features, and validate that what shipped actually works for them
Establish frontend fundamentals as the product grows, including component architecture, testing, build and release tooling, telemetry, and error reporting
Support field testing and deployments, including on-site debugging of the full stack from sensor to screen
Collaborate with a broad range of cross-functional teams including radar, embedded software, hardware, program management, and senior leadership
Qualifications
At least a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or other technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
6+ years of professional frontend application development experience, preferably on data-intensive, visualization-heavy, or mapping products.
Expert-level proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, and React.
Expert-level proficiency in Android-platform development technologies (Kotlin, Java, Android Studio)
Demonstrated track record of shipping production interfaces that users depend on, and owning changes and maintenance after launch
Working knowledge of backend web services and API design; comfortable reading and contributing to the services your interfaces consume.
Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. TS clearance.
Nice-to-Have
Experience with browser graphics programming (WebGL, WebGPU, Canvas, or a rendering library built on them) for large or continuously updating datasets
Experience with real-time, high-performance DSP or sensor data visualization (waterfall displays, spectrograms, radar or sonar imagery)
Experience with mapping and geospatial visualization stacks (Mapbox GL, deck.gl, Cesium, or similar)
Hands-on experience with the TAK ecosystem: ATAK/WinTAK plugin development, TAK Server deployment or federation, Cursor on Target message design, or data package workflows
Familiarity with interoperability and messaging standards used across defense and autonomy systems, such as STANAG 4676, ASTERIX, MISB/KLV, KML and GeoJSON, MQTT, ROS 2, or MAVLink
Experience with Dart and Flutter, or a comparable cross-platform framework, for building tablet and handheld clients that run alongside our web applications in the field
Experience with browser streaming technologies (WebSockets, WebRTC, WebTransport) and binary protocols such as Protobuf or FlatBuffers
Experience with multi-threaded browser development using Web Workers, WASM, or SharedArrayBuffer
Experience developing and maintaining reusable TypeScript libraries or internal design systems
Experience building software for defense, aerospace, autonomy, or other operational environments
Join our team and be part of a dynamic, collaborative environment where innovation and creativity thrive. We offer competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits, and the opportunity to work on groundbreaking projects that will shape the future of radar technology. To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
