Assignments evolve with departmental needs. The Senior Engineer works across functional boundaries, assumes new or transitional responsibilities, and provides coverage when needed. This position engineers how Transmission Interconnection work is performed. Transmission planning, engineering design, accounting, and routine transaction processing are not primary responsibilities.

Essential Functions:

  • Challenges inefficient practices and identifies opportunities to simplify, standardize, automate, or eliminate manual work.
  • Configures and supports monday.com, Jira, make.com, Power BI, SharePoint, and comparable platforms through workflows, automations, dashboards, reports, integrations, scripting, and data transformation.
  • Improves billing, reconciliation, project cost, financial control, and reporting processes in partnership with financial and operational stakeholders.
  • Builds alignment among businesses, Information Technology, vendors, consultants, and stakeholders with differing priorities and perspectives.
  • Owns assigned priorities, milestones, deliverables, risks, documentation, and follow-up; raises concerns early and drives work to completion with limited direction.
  • Supports the Lead Business Systems Analyst and provides guidance, knowledge transfer, temporary coverage, and continuity for transitioned responsibilities.
  • Monitors relevant industry, regulatory, financial, process, and technology developments and recommends opportunities for improvement.
  • Performs related duties and supports emerging departmental priorities as assigned.

Technical Knowledge/Skill/Education/Licenses/Certifications:

  • Understanding of regulatory requirements, billing, reconciliation, project costs, accounting interfaces, and financial controls.
  • Strong analytical, communication, facilitation, change management, conflict resolution, relationship management, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Demonstrated initiative, adaptability, accountability, resourcefulness, emotional intelligence, sound judgment, and follow-through.
  • Ability to learn quickly, balance urgency with accuracy, manage competing priorities, and produce results with limited direction.
  • Willingness to question existing practices constructively, propose solutions, accept feedback, and contribute wherever needed.
  • Utility, Transmission Interconnection, regulatory, accounting, finance, billing, or project management knowledge is preferred.

Education:

  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited college or university is required.
  • Related education or experience in business, finance, technology, data, automation, process improvement, or project management is preferred.
