Roles and Responsibilities

In the role of Senior Engineer – Military Preliminary Cycle Design, you will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, support system level decisions for architecture designs, trade studies and contribute to the overall business strategy.

Additionally, in the role of Senior Engineer – Military Preliminary Cycle Design, your responsibilities will include:

• Build & execute models of concept & derivative engines
• Prepare and lead presentations for leadership to help shape strategy
• Coordinate with a cross-functional team of adjacent disciplines (aero, cycles, systems) to assess technology capability & maturity
• Work with focals across Aviation to shape cross-section, weight, cost, and maintenance strategy for PD and GE Aviation / Edison Works
• Lead the development and integration of parametric tools to enable parametric design space exploration and optimization studies
• Support competitive assessments to help influence business strategy
• Ensuring discipline vitality through mentoring, and Design Board activities, including Design Practices, Best Practices and Lessons Learned
• Support commercial programs as required
• Prepare presentations for leadership to help shape strategy
• Execute with limited guidance the analysis / evaluation of assigned projects that meet business standards, practices and procedures and the product / program requirements
• Ensure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and / or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures
• Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments
• Participate in organizational efforts in assigned projects and / or tasks
• Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews

Qualifications/Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an accredited University or College
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in Preliminary Cycle Design

The base pay range for this position is $130,000.00 - 173,000.00. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/ commission based on the plan.  This posting is expected to close on October 12, 2026.
