  • Supported grid connection strategy development through load flow, stability, fault, protection, and control studies.
  • Collaborated with major industry stakeholders including OPG, Bruce Power, IESO, and transmission service providers to ensure regulatory and technical compliance.
  • Coordinated multidisciplinary engineering interfaces across Civil & Structural, Mechanical, Instrumentation & Controls (I&C), Turbine Generator, Cooling Water Systems, Construction Planning, and Plant Layout teams.
  • Resolved cross-functional design challenges and ensured alignment between electrical engineering solutions and overall plant performance objectives.
  • Established technical requirements for procurement packages and supported preparation of RFP/RFQ documentation.
  • Led technical bid evaluations, supplier qualification reviews, and vendor clarification meetings to support procurement and contracting activities.
  • Managed vendor technical deliverables, design reviews, and contract execution support throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Supported commissioning planning, system turnover, startup activities, and integrated testing programs to ensure successful plant energization and operation.
  • Ensured timely delivery of high-quality engineering deliverables while supporting project schedule, budget, and risk management objectives.
  • Fostered effective coordination among engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and operations teams to achieve project milestones and successful grid integration.

About you

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or strong project management expertise considered an asset.
  • Minimum 15 years of progressive electrical engineering experience supporting complex industrial and energy infrastructure projects.
  • 10 years of experience within nuclear, power generation, transmission, and large-scale industrial environments would be preferred.
  • Extensive experience supporting utility-connected generation facilities, including design, integration, commissioning, and operational readiness activities.
  • Proven track record working within EPC organizations, Owner's Engineer roles, utility companies, and major capital project environments.
  • Demonstrated success leading multidisciplinary engineering teams through all phases of project delivery.
  • Strong technical expertise in high-voltage transmission and distribution systems, medium-voltage networks, and station auxiliary power systems.
  • Experienced in generator systems, Generator Step-Up Transformers (GSU), and utility interconnection requirements for large power generation facilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of power system studies including load flow, short-circuit, stability, coordination, and protection analysis.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Protection & Control systems, grid integration requirements, and transmission network interfaces.
  • Expertise in electrical system design for emergency power systems, DC power systems, battery systems, and uninterruptible power supply (UPS) applications.
  • Experienced in managing complex electrical interfaces within nuclear facilities and large Balance of Plant (BOP) environments.
