Role Overview 

We are looking for a senior data engineer with 6-8 years of experience

in designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise-scale data platforms leveraging the Microsoft Azure ecosystem. The role requires expertise in data integration, data transformation, cloud-native data architectures, and data governance to enable reliable, secure, and scalable analytics solutions across the enterprise.

Experience with visualization and reporting tools such as Power BI is preferred at a familiarity level to support collaboration with analytics and business intelligence teams.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Design, develop, and maintain enterprise data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Microsoft Fabric, and Azure Data Lake.

  • Build scalable ETL/ELT frameworks to ingest, transform, and process structured and unstructured data from multiple enterprise sources.

  • Develop and optimize data models for enterprise reporting, analytics, and AI/ML use cases.

  • Integrate data from APIs, databases, cloud platforms, and enterprise applications such as ServiceNow, SAP, and other business systems.

  • Ensure data quality, lineage, governance, security, and compliance across the data platform.

  • Implement performance tuning and optimization for large-scale datasets and data processing workloads.

  • Collaborate with business, analytics, and engineering teams to design reliable and scalable data solutions.

  • Support DevOps and CI/CD practices for data platform deployment and lifecycle management.

Required Skills 

  • Strong experience with Azure Data Engineering services:

  • Azure Data Factory

  • Azure Data Lake Storage

  • Azure Synapse Analytics / Microsoft Fabric

  • Azure SQL Database

  • Advanced SQL and data modelling skills.

  • Experience in ETL/ELT design and implementation.

  • Python and/or Spark for data processing and automation.

  • Data warehousing and lakehouse architecture concepts.

  • Experience integrating APIs and enterprise data sources.

  • Knowledge of data governance, security, and access control frameworks.

  • Experience working with Git, CI/CD, and cloud-native deployment practices.

Good to Have

  •  Familiarity with Power BI or other data visualization platforms.

  • Experience with Databricks, AI/ML, predictive analytics, or real-time streaming architectures.

  • Exposure to Power Apps, Power Automate, and low-code platforms.

  • Experience with industrial, operational technology (OT), or enterprise asset management data domains.

Chevron ENGINE supports global operations, supporting business requirements across the world. Accordingly, the work hours for employees will be aligned to support business requirements. The standard work week will be Monday to Friday. Working hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm or 1.30pm to 10.30pm.
