As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will lead the design, development, and deployment of high-performance APIs and microservices utilizing FastAPI, ensuring seamless integration with AWS services such as EC2 and Lambda. You will architect robust data pipelines and manage PostgreSQL databases at scale, while implementing automation and CI/CD pipelines to streamline operations. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you will translate business requirements into scalable, secure, and maintainable code, driving technological excellence and continuous improvement. Your role will also involve mentoring junior engineers and championing best practices in cloud-native development and API security.

Requirements

𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable RESTful and GraphQL APIs using FastAPI.

• Deploy and manage backend services on AWS EC2 instances and serverless Lambda functions.

• Design and optimize PostgreSQL schemas, queries, and indexing for high performance.

• Implement CI/CD pipelines using AWS CodePipeline, GitHub Actions, or equivalent tools.

• Ensure application security through proper authentication, authorization, and encryption practices.

• Monitor application health and performance using CloudWatch, Prometheus, or Grafana.

• Collaborate with frontend and data science teams to integrate APIs and data services.

• Troubleshoot and resolve production incidents, performing root cause analysis and post-mortem reviews.

• Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using IaC tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.

• Mentor junior developers and conduct code reviews to uphold coding standards and best practices.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗮 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝗙𝗶𝘁

• 4+ years of professional experience building backend systems in Python.

• Deep expertise with FastAPI, including dependency injection and asynchronous execution.

• Proven experience deploying applications on AWS EC2 and developing Lambda functions.

• Strong command of PostgreSQL including schema design, query optimization, and replication.

• Familiarity with serverless architectures and event-driven design patterns.

• Hands-on knowledge of CI/CD, containerization (Docker), and orchestration (ECS, EKS).

• Excellent debugging skills and experience with cloud monitoring and logging solutions.

• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset for cross-functional teams.

• Ability to mentor and grow junior engineers while driving architectural decisions.

• Passion for clean code, automated testing, and continuous delivery.
