SUMMARY:
The AI Agile Product Owner connects stakeholder strategy with the tactical execution of Agile development teams. This role owns and prioritizes the product backlog for AI-enabled features across digital applications and support platforms, translates product strategy into clear user stories and acceptance criteria, and promotes delivery that aligns with business value, user needs, privacy requirements, and responsible AI guardrails.
HIERARCHY:
Individual contributor who works across business stakeholders, product leadership, user experience, engineering, data, security, privacy, legal/compliance, and support teams. The role provides product direction to Agile delivery teams without direct supervisory responsibility.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
- Partner with stakeholders to understand strategic objectives, user needs, product outcomes, and success measures for AI-enabled digital experiences.
- Translate strategic vision into actionable product roadmaps, epics, features, user stories, acceptance criteria, and prioritized backlog items.
- Own and continuously refine the product backlog in Jira, balancing business value, customer impact, risk, dependencies, team capacity, and technical feasibility.
- Provide clear product direction and timely decisions to Agile development teams throughout discovery, planning, delivery, validation, release, and ongoing optimization.
- Lead or actively participate in backlog refinement, sprint planning, daily coordination, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and release planning.
- Collaborate with engineering, design, data, analytics, support, security, privacy, legal, and compliance partners to define and deliver AI features in digital applications and platforms.
- Ensure AI use cases, requirements, data handling, and user experiences address applicable privacy, security, transparency, human oversight, and responsible AI guardrails.
- Define testable acceptance criteria and support validation of product increments against functional, quality, usability, and guardrail requirements.
- Maintain complete, current, and traceable product documentation, including decisions, assumptions, dependencies, risks, requirements, and release notes.
- Monitor delivery progress, remove ambiguity, communicate status and tradeoffs, and escalate material risks or decisions to the appropriate stakeholders.
- Gather stakeholder and user feedback, review performance data, and use insights to recommend backlog and roadmap adjustments.
- Support change readiness, stakeholder communications, and adoption activities for new or enhanced AI-enabled capabilities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Collaboration: Builds alignment across stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams, including partners without a direct reporting relationship.
- Analytical problem solving: Evaluates options, risks, dependencies, and evidence to support sound product decisions.
- Organization and execution: Manages competing priorities while maintaining focus on outcomes, quality, and timely delivery.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree in Business Analysis or a relevant field.
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of 10 years of product owner, product management, business analysis, or Agile delivery experience, including senior-level product ownership responsibilities.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and develop complex business and technical documentation. Ability to communicate clearly and persuasively in English with stakeholders and delivery teams at all organizational levels.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Advanced proficiency using Jira to create and manage product backlogs, epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, workflows, and progress tracking.
- Demonstrated experience delivering AI features in digital applications or platforms.
- Demonstrated experience working with digital support platforms and cross-functional technology teams.
- Working knowledge of privacy and other responsible AI guardrails, with the ability to incorporate them into product requirements and delivery decisions.
- Excellent written, verbal, facilitation, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Product Owner certification is preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Regular use of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment. Regular, repetitive movements such as typing, mouse movements, and scrolling. Ability to hear and understand spoken communications, both in person and via remote communication tools (e.g., phone, video conferencing). Ability to see and read computer screens and printed documents, as well as adjust focus. This includes prolonged periods of looking at a computer screen.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Professional administrative environment with frequent use of computers, collaboration platforms, video conferencing, and standard office equipment. Work arrangement may be remote, hybrid, client-site, or office-based according to assignment requirements.
EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:
Full-time schedule aligned with client and project needs. Occasional work outside standard business hours may be required to support key milestones, workshops, or releases.
TRAVEL:
Limited travel may be required for client meetings, planning sessions, workshops, or other business needs.
