HIERARCHY:

Individual contributor who works across business stakeholders, product leadership, user experience, engineering, data, security, privacy, legal/compliance, and support teams. The role provides product direction to Agile delivery teams without direct supervisory responsibility.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Partner with stakeholders to understand strategic objectives, user needs, product outcomes, and success measures for AI-enabled digital experiences.
  • Translate strategic vision into actionable product roadmaps, epics, features, user stories, acceptance criteria, and prioritized backlog items.
  • Own and continuously refine the product backlog in Jira, balancing business value, customer impact, risk, dependencies, team capacity, and technical feasibility.
  • Provide clear product direction and timely decisions to Agile development teams throughout discovery, planning, delivery, validation, release, and ongoing optimization.
  • Lead or actively participate in backlog refinement, sprint planning, daily coordination, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and release planning.
  • Collaborate with engineering, design, data, analytics, support, security, privacy, legal, and compliance partners to define and deliver AI features in digital applications and platforms.
  • Ensure AI use cases, requirements, data handling, and user experiences address applicable privacy, security, transparency, human oversight, and responsible AI guardrails.
  • Define testable acceptance criteria and support validation of product increments against functional, quality, usability, and guardrail requirements.
  • Maintain complete, current, and traceable product documentation, including decisions, assumptions, dependencies, risks, requirements, and release notes.
  • Monitor delivery progress, remove ambiguity, communicate status and tradeoffs, and escalate material risks or decisions to the appropriate stakeholders.
  • Gather stakeholder and user feedback, review performance data, and use insights to recommend backlog and roadmap adjustments.
  • Support change readiness, stakeholder communications, and adoption activities for new or enhanced AI-enabled capabilities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

COMPENTENCY:

  • Strategic and tactical alignment: Connects stakeholder vision and desired outcomes to executable delivery plans.
  • Product ownership: Demonstrates strong backlog management, prioritization, roadmap planning, and value-based decision making.
  • Agile delivery: Applies Agile principles and practices effectively in cross-functional product development environments.
  • AI and digital platform knowledge: Understands the implementation of AI-enabled features within digital applications and support platforms.
  • Responsible AI awareness: Recognizes privacy, security, transparency, data governance, human oversight, and other guardrails relevant to AI solutions.
  • Communication and influence: Communicates complex concepts clearly to executive, business, technical, and delivery audiences.
  • Documentation: Produces clear, concise, well-structured, and traceable product artifacts.
  • Collaboration: Builds alignment across stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams, including partners without a direct reporting relationship.
  • Analytical problem solving: Evaluates options, risks, dependencies, and evidence to support sound product decisions.
  • Organization and execution: Manages competing priorities while maintaining focus on outcomes, quality, and timely delivery.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

Bachelor's degree in Business Analysis or a relevant field.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 10 years of product owner, product management, business analysis, or Agile delivery experience, including senior-level product ownership responsibilities.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Demonstrated experience delivering AI features in digital applications or platforms.
  • Demonstrated experience working with digital support platforms and cross-functional technology teams.
  • Working knowledge of privacy and other responsible AI guardrails, with the ability to incorporate them into product requirements and delivery decisions.
  • Excellent written, verbal, facilitation, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
