Your mission:

You are responsible for translating regenerative agricultural expertise and science in arable farming systems in temperate climates into actionable, scalable digital products for farmers on Klim's platform.

You ensure that Klim’s digital products are agronomically sound, farmer-relevant, commercially viable and delivered with high quality.

Your responsibilities:

• Own the agronomic logic behind farmer-facing recommendations and assessments - cover crop mixes, tillage transitions, rotation changes, nutrient decisions - and judge whether a given recommendation makes sense for a given soil, location and goal.

• Translate agronomy into buildable products. Turn agronomic principles into clear product and engineering specifications.

• Bring empathy to the farmer’s context into our products. What is going on around our product for the farmers, what data are accessible and reasonable to ask for, what value we can deliver back to famers.

• Act as a sparring partner to product, design and modelling. Challenge assumptions, find the gaps in our thinking, and say when an approach won't land with a farmer.

• Challenge models and outputs against field reality. You dig into the numbers, spot what doesn't add up, and explain why a result contradicts what you would expect from experience.

• Think like the farm owner, not just the agronomist. Tell us where farmers will hesitate, what proof they'll ask for, and what makes the change worth it to them, in money and beyond.

• Own and review agronomic datasets, literature, and assumptions used in digital products.

• Contribute to roadmap and prioritization decisions based on farmer value, willingness to pay, partner value, technical feasibility, and strategic relevance.

• Support farmer validation through interviews, feedback analysis, test cases, and field-reality checks.

• Support expansion into new regions by working out how farming systems differ and what that means for our recommendations.

Your profile:

• You have 5+ years of experience in farm management, agronomic advisory, farm business consultancy, or a comparable role where you carried responsibility for real decisions on real farms.

• You have a solid academic background in agronomy, agricultural sciences, or a related discipline. A strong practical track record can stand in its place.

• You have strong, hands-on experience in open-field arable systems (cereals, oilseeds, root crops) in temperate Europe.

• You have a deep understanding of regenerative arable farming, including soil health, nutrient management, crop rotations, cover crops, tillage, and reduced-input systems.

• You have proven hands-on farm economics experience. You have built an investment case alongside a farmer and know which arguments actually convince, and which don't.

• You combine regenerative conviction with practical judgment. You believe in regenerative impact and know what farmers will realistically adopt: no evangelism, no greenwashing.

• You are interested in technology. You have used farm software, and follow what is happening in the space and believe in the potential but also see the issues.

• You can find your way around a spreadsheet or a set of performance figures and spot where the logic breaks.

• You have a creative spark. Given a half-formed idea, you improve it rather than only evaluate it.

Languages

• Fluent English and fluent German. Most of our farmers are German, and you will be talking to them, reading their feedback and reviewing German farmer-facing copy. Experience of the German market is a strong advantage.
