Purpose of the Role

Define, drive, and govern the technical strategy for enterprise Agentic AI platforms and solutions, ensuring scalable, secure, compliant, and business-aligned AI capabilities across the organization.

Our hybrid working model is designed to balance collaboration, innovation, and personal flexibility. Team members typically come together in our Vadistanbul office for two days per week during three weeks of the month, while one week each month is fully remote.

We also offer additional flexibility during August, allowing colleagues to work remotely throughout the month.

As part of a globally distributed organization, you'll collaborate with colleagues across multiple ING locations while contributing to large-scale AI initiatives that create impact across the bank.

Key Responsibilities

AI Architecture & Strategy

• Define the enterprise AI and Agentic AI architecture vision, standards, and technology roadmap.
• Lead architectural decisions for strategic AI initiatives.
• Ensure scalable, secure, and consistent AI solutions across teams.

AI Platforms & Agentic AI

• Design and evolve enterprise AI platforms and multi-agent systems.
• Establish best practices for LLMs, RAG, agent orchestration, and AI solution development.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and drive innovation initiatives.

Technical Leadership

• Serve as the senior technical authority for complex engineering challenges.
• Guide engineers and architects on solution design and technology choices.
• Promote engineering excellence through mentoring and knowledge sharing.

Cloud & Platform Engineering

• Define cloud and platform strategies for AI workloads.
• Drive platform automation, infrastructure modernization, and DevOps practices.
• Ensure performance, scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency.

AI Governance & Security

• Establish standards for Responsible AI, security, privacy, and compliance.
• Drive AI governance and risk management practices across the organization.

Business & Stakeholder Engagement

• Partner with senior leaders to align AI strategy with business objectives.
• Advise stakeholders on technology investments and AI opportunities.
• Communicate complex technical concepts to executive audiences.

Talent Development

• Mentor engineers, architects, and technical leaders.
• Support hiring and build a culture of innovation and continuous learning.

About You

You likely bring:

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
• Advanced technical certifications in cloud, architecture, or AI technologies are advantageous.
• Typically 6+ years of software engineering and architecture experience.
• Extensive experience designing and operating enterprise-scale distributed systems.
• Proven track record delivering production AI and Agentic AI platforms.
• Demonstrated success influencing architecture and technical direction across multiple teams.
• Experience mentoring senior engineers and leading technical transformation initiatives.

Required Qualifications

AI & Software Engineering

• Expert-level Python development experience.
• Strong background in distributed systems, scalable architectures, and software design principles.
• Experience with event-driven architectures and reliability engineering.

Agentic AI & Generative AI

• Proven expertise in LLM applications, RAG, and multi-agent systems.
• Hands-on experience with frameworks such as LangGraph, LangChain, CrewAI, or AutoGen.
• Knowledge of AI evaluation, observability, and optimization practices.

Cloud & Platform Engineering

• Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Strong Kubernetes, containerization, IaC, and CI/CD expertise.
• Ability to optimize enterprise-scale AI workloads.

Governance & Leadership

• Understanding of Responsible AI, security, privacy, and compliance requirements.
• Strong strategic thinking, executive communication, stakeholder management, and mentoring skills.
