Key deliverables
- Drive delivery of experience investigations and assumption setting, including 1st line quality assurance
- Drive improvements in investigation techniques including statistical tests; data quality and structures; and implementation of machine learning capabilities to support setting of assumptions.
- Drive implementation and adoption of modern and robust tools, including AI capabilities where appropriate.
- Research on macro environment, and where appropriate international trends
- Drive development of management information that results in business action
- Develop robust controls to ensure assumptions are accurately reflected across the insurance value chain.
- As a senior member in the Corporate Actuarial team, collaborate and own deliverables where required to deliver top priorities for the broader team
People & Stakeholder management
- Responsibilities to support talent development including exam progression of students
- Leading a team of actuarial students
- Deliver to requirements of internal stakeholders, including business line CFOs, Exco, and Board committees.
- Collaboration with and delivering requirements for external stakeholders i.e. HAF, auditors, cell captive businesses etc.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement

Education
- Bachelor's Degree: Actuarial Science
- Qualified Fellow Actuary
Experience
- 7+ years’ experience in corporate actuarial life office valuations.
- Preference will be given to candidates in line with the Group’s employment equity policy.
- Experience and exposure to machine learning and AI would beneficial
