Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain the Company’s lease accounting records in compliance with ASC 842.

• Review and analyze executed lease agreements, amendments, renewals, terminations, and other lease-related documents to determine the appropriate accounting treatment.

• Prepare monthly journal entries related to lease liabilities, right-of-use assets, rent expense, variable lease costs, and other occupancy related expenses.

• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations for lease-related accounts and investigate and resolve reconciling items timely.

• Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, including preparation of supporting schedules and analyses.

• Assist with the preparation of footnote disclosures and other lease-related reporting requirements for internal and external financial statements.

• Assist in preparation of financial reports and financial statement review.

• Assist with the annual budget process.

• Assist with internal & external audits to ensure Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) & GAAP compliance.

• Assist with special projects and ad hoc analyses as assigned

Experience and Skills Required

• Education: BS or BA, concentration in Accounting

• CPA or CPA candidate preferred.

• Experience in a retail, multi-location, or publicly traded environment preferred.

• Based in Dallas/Ft. Worth area

• Experience with MultiView a plus

• Experience with lease administration/accounting systems (e.g., Lucernex)

• Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and a safe manner

• Is committed to working scheduled hours and has the flexibility to work additional hours based on changing business needs

• Knowledge of industry business and passion for following trends in the industry

• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, at all levels within and outside the organization

• Ability to quickly separate the mission-critical tasks from the lower priority tasks; focuses on the most value-added projects of the day or week

• Flexible, with a positive attitude and passion for knowledge

• Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to successfully manage multiple projects at once

• Possess focused attention to detail and solid organizational and prioritization skills while working quickly and accurately under pressure

• Professional manner and strong communication skills internally and with outside vendor partners

Physical Requirements:

This position requires you to sit, stand and perform general office functions. You may also be required to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally. Bending, stooping and reaching are also frequently required.
