The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing the Company's accounting operations, financial reporting, treasury management, investment monitoring, tax compliance, and internal controls. The role ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial records, timely completion of month-end and year-end closing activities, compliance with Philippine regulatory requirements, and effective management of cash and investment portfolios.

The position requires a highly analytical and detail-oriented finance professional with strong experience in Philippine accounting and taxation, treasury and banking operations, SAP ERP system, and financial reporting under Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS/IFRS).

The Senior Accountant will work closely with business units, banks, auditors, tax authorities, and management while driving process improvements and finance transformation initiatives.

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing activities.
• Review and approve journal entries, accruals, provisions, reclassifications, and adjustments.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of the general ledger and subsidiary ledgers.
• Review balance sheet reconciliations and ensure timely resolution of outstanding items.
• Monitor compliance with PFRS/IFRS and company accounting policies.
• Prepare and review monthly financial statements and management reports.
• Analyze financial results and explain significant variances and unusual transactions.
• Maintain schedules for fixed assets, leases, borrowings, investments, and other significant accounts.
• Ensure proper accounting treatment of complex or non-routine transactions.

• Manage daily cash position and liquidity requirements.
• Prepare and review short-term and long-term cash flow forecasts.
• Monitor working capital and optimize cash utilization.
• Oversee bank account administration, signatory management, and banking relationships.
• Review and approve payment runs, fund transfers, and treasury transactions.
• Monitor debt obligations, loan repayments, interest accruals, and financing arrangements.
• Coordinate with banks regarding financing facilities, foreign exchange requirements, investment products, and treasury services.
• Ensure compliance with treasury policies and internal controls.

• Monitor and account for investments such as:
  • Time Deposits
  • Money Market Placements
  • Other Financial Assets
• Track investment maturities, yields, interest income, and reinvestment opportunities.
• Prepare investment portfolio reports for management review.
• Calculate and review accrued interest income and fair value adjustments where applicable.
• Coordinate with banks and investment institutions regarding placements and investment strategies.
• Evaluate investment opportunities and provide recommendations to management.
• Ensure proper accounting and disclosure of investments in accordance with PFRS/IFRS.

• Oversee the preparation and review of Philippine tax compliance requirements, including:
  • Annual and Quarterly Income Tax Returns
• Review tax reconciliations and supporting schedules.
• Assist in responding to BIR audits, assessments, and regulatory inquiries.
• Monitor changes in tax laws and assess their impact on the business.

• Act as a key user for SAP Financial Accounting (FI), Treasury and General Ledger modules.
• Review accounting transactions recorded in SAP and ensure data integrity.
• Participate in system enhancements, upgrades, testing, and implementation projects.
• Support automation initiatives and finance process digitalization efforts.
• Develop and improve SAP reports and reconciliation processes.
• Train junior finance staff on SAP-related processes and controls.

• Manage digital banking platforms and electronic payment systems.
• Review and approve online banking transactions in accordance with authority limits.
• Coordinate with banks regarding:
  • Online banking administration
  • User access controls
  • Digital payment facilities
  • Cash management services
• Ensure security and compliance of online banking activities.
• Monitor electronic fund transfers, intercompany transfers, and automated payment processes.

• Collaborate with Procurement, HR, Operations, Legal, Treasury partners, and external stakeholders.
• Support Finance Manager and CFO in special projects and strategic initiatives.
• Promote a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement.

• Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is highly preferred.

• Minimum 5-8 years of progressive accounting experience.
• At least 2 years in a senior accounting role.
• Experience in Philippine corporate accounting, treasury, and financial reporting.
• Experience handling investment accounting and cash management functions.
• Experience working with multinational companies, shared services, or large Philippine corporations is an advantage.
