In economics consulting at PwC, you will apply economic principles and analytical techniques to offer advice and guidance to businesses, public agencies, or organisations. About PwC SATIC and the role

The South African Technology & Innovation Centre (SATIC) is part of PwC’s global network, delivering high-quality support to some of the world’s largest and most complex client engagements. This South Africa-based role supports UK-based client work within multidisciplinary PwC teams serving public and private sector clients.

Summary:

Associate Economist with a strong grounding in economics, quantitative analysis and problem solving, supporting high-quality economic analysis for UK-based clients across multidisciplinary projects.

Qualifications /Certifications required:

Degree in Economics, Econometrics or a related discipline required; postgraduate qualification in Economics or a related field desirable.

Experience required:

Relevant experience in strategy consulting, corporate strategy, policy, management consulting or a similar environment.

Experience should include economic modelling, statistical software such as STATA, R or Python, quantitative and qualitative research techniques, synthesis of complex information, report and presentation development, stakeholder communication and working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities of role:

Develop economic appraisals, cost-benefit analyses and business cases; support programme and policy evaluations using quantitative and qualitative methods; conduct economic analysis, research and quantitative modelling; support evidence-based strategic, policy and investment decisions; gather, analyse and synthesise evidence; develop analytical models and quantitative assessments; contribute to reports, presentations and proposals; support client workshops and business development activities.

Desirable skill sets include:

Experience developing business cases and economic appraisals; programme evaluation experience; familiarity with public sector policy development and decision-making processes; postgraduate qualification in Economics or a related field.
