Overview of the job 

You will be a leader in the Analytics & Insights team, responsible for shaping business and customer strategy through consumer, market and retailer insights. You will lead complex analytics and end-to-end consumer research, translate quantitative and qualitative data into clear strategic recommendations, and partner with leadership teams and retailers to activate the insights. Using tools such as Power BI and Microsoft Excel, you will simplify large data sets, create dashboards where needed and enable efficient, consistent data mining and decision-making across the business. 

Your team 

This role reports to the Director of Analytics & Insights for P&G South Africa and works with a team of analytics and insights professionals across retailer analytics and consumer research. You will lead work across multiple multifunctional teams, including Sales, Finance, Marketing, Strategy and retailer-facing teams. Key stakeholders include senior business leaders, internal sales teams, retailer leadership and external research and data partners. 

Job Qualifications

Technical competencies  

• University degree in Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Data Science or Business Science, supported by strong technical mastery and a passion for consumer insights and research. 

• Preferred experience: 3–5 years in a multinational consumer goods or retail environment in a similar or related role. 

• Strong proficiency in Power BI and Microsoft Excel, including large-data-set analysis, data modelling, dashboard development and clear visualisation of business performance. 

• Proficiency in applying AI tools, including Microsoft Copilot and Claude Code, to accelerate analysis, research, data interpretation, automation and the development of high-quality business insights. 

• Demonstrated expertise in market, customer and consumer analysis, combining multiple quantitative and qualitative sources to identify trends, opportunities and strategic implications. 

• Proven capability to lead consumer research and analytics projects end to end, manage external agencies or data partners, and deliver high-quality outputs on time. 

• Experience owning enterprise or corporate data and analytics initiatives, including governance, reporting routines, adoption and value delivery.
