Role Description
We are looking to recruit an exceptional Robot Field Engineer to support our pilot deployments at customer sites.
In this role you will:
- Oversee and operate robotic systems within pilot environments to meet operational goals.
- Coordinate with the customer engineering team and collect their feedback to ensure that our solution is meeting their expectations and goals.
- Collaborate with the Maven Autonomy and Controls teams to execute on-site test plans.
- Conduct first-level software triage, diagnose operational issues, and clearly report findings to the engineering development team for resolution.
- Integrate our robotic solutions with customer systems.
- Proactively monitor and manage robot task success rate and throughput.
- Execute routine and preventative maintenance on robotic hardware and electromechanical systems to ensure peak performance.
- Repair or replace electrical and mechanical components as necessary.
You will collaborate closing with Controls, Autonomy, and Integration teams to ensure correct behavior in the field and with the Customer team to ensure their requirements are met.
Qualifications
Must Have:
- Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience working with complex robotic or electromechanical systems.
- Proficiency with C++/Python programming languages and familiarity with ROS2 and Linux-based development and debugging environments.
- Working knowledge of common robotics networking and communication protocols (e.g., CANOpen, EtherCAT, UART).
- Ability to work independently, troubleshoot issues effectively, and ensure the successful completion of robotic tasks.
- Comfortable working with standard mechanical and electrical tools (e.g., screwdrivers, wrenches, crimpers, multi-meter).
- Ability to travel 40-50% of the time to customer facilities.
Nice to Have:
- Masters of Science (M.S.) in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
- Previous experience deploying and supporting robotic systems in field or production environments.
- Familiarity with safety-critical or real-time software systems.
