The Retail Analysis & Insights Analyst II plays a pivotal role in transforming complex data into actionable business insights. This position goes beyond data manipulation and reporting—leveraging advanced analytics, business acumen, and clear communication to address high-impact questions from clients and internal partners (including Operations, Marketing, Client Services, Finance, Business Operations, and HR).
The Analyst II not only builds and executes advanced SQL queries and creates compelling BI reports but also synthesizes results into clear, actionable recommendations. Working under general guidance, the role proactively identifies analytical opportunities, advises on strategic decisions, and effectively communicates with senior and executive-level stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Apply a strong understanding of business operations, workflows, and performance metrics to support analytical work.

• Independently determine appropriate data sources, definitions, and assumptions for assigned analyses.

• Act as a trusted analytics partner within an assigned business area.

• Independently write, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries to support reporting, ad-hoc analysis, and decision-making.

• Build, enhance, and maintain dashboards that clearly communicate trends, drivers, and performance.

• Proactively analyze data to uncover patterns, trends, anomalies, and emerging insights, and bring forward observations and recommendations.

• Proactively identify inefficiencies in business processes, reporting workflows, or data usage.

• Recommend and help implement process improvements, automation, or enhancements to analytics outputs.

• Own recurring reports, dashboards, or analytical processes, ensuring accuracy, reliability, and relevance.

• Collaborate closely with Technology teams and Analytics colleagues to extract, validate, and document datasets.

• Clearly communicate analytical findings, data limitations, and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Manage multiple priorities with minimal direction, ensuring clarity on scope, timelines, and business impact.

• Present findings, insights, and recommendations to senior stakeholders and executives, adapting delivery for both technical and non-technical audiences to drive informed decisions.

Education & Experience Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or another quantitative discipline.

• Minimum 2 years of hands-on SQL experience working with large-scale, complex data repositories.

• Minimum 2 years of experience building and maintaining BI tools such as Tableau, Qlik, PowerBI, Sigma, or similar platforms.

• At least 2 years of experience synthesizing data into actionable recommendations adopted by the business.

• Experience using Python to support data analysis, automation, or analytics workflows is preferred but not required.

Skills & Qualifications Required

• Strong analytical thinking with the ability to independently solve moderately complex problems.

• Solid understanding of data quality, data modeling concepts, and analytical best practices.

• Experience gathering, refining, and validating business requirements with limited guidance.

• Ability to prioritize work, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines with minimal oversight.

• Curiosity and initiative in identifying improvement opportunities beyond assigned tasks.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong data visualization skills with a track record of building BI solutions that drive business outcomes.

• Ability to present complex findings with clarity, confidence, and influence.
