The coordinator is responsible for scheduling, dispatching, tracking, and reporting of maintenance and construction work for in-house and contractor crews to ensure resources are fully utilized. In addition, the role is responsible for the preparation of permit applications, assembly of work packets and all other prerequisites required for the delivery of all capital construction, field maintenance work and customer-initiated gas growth work. This position is also responsible for assisting with overall oversite and accurate tracking and fulfilling requests to ensure sufficient volume of shovel-ready work exists to meet workplan and regulatory requirements. This role works closely with Field Operations management personnel.
Position Responsibilities:
- Prepare road opening permit applications in accordance with the requirements of local permitting agency
- Responsible for the accuracy and data quality of information entered in work management systems and trackers, which is crucial for tracking and managing regulatory compliance dates and work plan progress.
- Monitors accurate permit application status within work management systems and trackers and adheres to departmental cycle times for the purpose of timely permitting.
- Facilitates daily discussions with operational supervisors and contractor foreman to ensure work progression and full utilization of crews.
- Coordinate and balance internal resources to optimize short and long-term resource needs and achieve the annual workplan objectives
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders, share best practices, drive consistency, and ensure timely delivery of projects.
- Engage directly with municipal officials involved in the permitting process to secure approvals necessary to progress work.
- Challenge existing ways of working and continuously seek better ways of performing work to drive greater efficiencies.
- Serve as back-up to Resource and Work Coordination Supervisor regarding all permit related matters.
- Supports training and development of bargaining unit personnel performing permit process related work.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, or 5+ years of related work experience
- Associates degree, or 5+ years of related work experience
- 2+ years of Excel experience
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 Applications
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work flexible schedules, extended hours, and travel to multiple work locations within the state as needed
Preferred Experience:
- Previous utility experience or knowledge of natural gas system operations
- Previous experience with work planning and scheduling process
- Previous experience with process management and improvement
- Experience with CGI OpenGrid
Benefits
The base pay range for this role is $28 - $38 per Hour.
