The Resident & Patient Services Manager, under the direction of the Department Director, plans, administers, directs, and controls all unit activities related to resident/patient nutrition care and food service to ensure high-quality standards of operation; complies with the standards established by HHS, regulatory agencies, and the client; develops and implements cost-effective, profit-generating nutrition programs; and functions as a member of the multidisciplinary healthcare team.Be an integral part of the healing process by ensuring food quality, service, safety, and sanitation are provided for all patients. Lead a goal-oriented patient ambassador team to create a hospitality-centered, guest-first environment that is effective and productive, and that takes pride in delivering quality service every time.
Responsibilities
Primary oversight:
Food Service/Nutrition and Hospitality for Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing. Including: Dining Rooms, Kitchens, Pantries, Pantry Food Supplies, Meal Assembly and Meal Distribution.
Essential Functions: Training, Monitoring, Hiring Staff
• Conduct annual staff evaluations according to procedures and within the expected time frame.
• Maintain and enforce disciplinary policy and follow through on procedures.
• Complete the work schedule to ensure adequate coverage for all department functions
Resident/Patient Satisfaction
• Develop and monitor evaluation processes for resident and patient satisfaction.
• Coordinate and evaluate resident and patient food service standards to ensure patient satisfaction with meals and nourishment; initiate action to correct any problems.
• Ensure processes are followed; initiate performance improvement within trouble areas.
• Manage and control resources and materials to ensure the quality and adequacy of supplies.
• Resources and materials may include patient menus, tray mats, tents, and napkins, satisfaction surveys, and nutritional supplements.
Development and Guidance
• Develop training tools for CNS staff.
Implement and Maintain the Ambassador Programs
• Educate staff, nursing, and food service employees on issues regarding special diets.
• Attend patient rounds on assigned floors
Job Specifications
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role/responsibility is required.
• Proficient computer skills, including Excel and Word.
• Knowledge of regulatory standards.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
• Excellent at client relationship management.
• Ability to conduct oneself positively and professionally.
• Adhere to facility policies and procedures, including the confidentiality and patient’s rights policies as outlined in the facility’s policies and procedures manual.
• Adhere to the facility’s Emergency Preparedness Program, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and other mandatory programs in the facility as appropriate.
• Perform other tasks as may be assigned.

Not Required but a Big Plus
- Certified Dietary Manager, Registered Dietitian, or Licensed Dietitian preferred
