The goal of this training program is to provide training to Devangi Vyas, a medical student from Imperial College London, with
basic concepts on cancer genetics and RAS biology. Devangi will analyze the genetic interactions between mutations in APC and
K-RAS in colon cancer, and study how APC mutations affect the response of cancers to inhibitors of K-RAS. In addition, Devangi
will be exposed to analyses and interpretation of all data being generated in the Haigis Lab. Devangi has prior experience in
bioinformatics and will utilize this expertise to analyze scRNAseq datasets we have collected. She will present her research during
our weekly group meetings. Finally, Devangi will become familiar with the research of other groups from the Department of Cancer
Biology, by participating in our weekly Departmental Seminar Series

Understanding basic concepts of cancer genetics, therapeutic responses, and RAS biology. This will be evaluated by the

supervisor Dr. Minto and by the PI during our regular research meetings, in which Devangi will participate actively.

Developing the ability to present new data. Devangi will present her ongoing work during the week group meeting of the Haigis

group. All members of the lab will ask questions and make constructive suggestions.

Learning the following techniques: molecular cloning, culture of organoid lines, transfection of mammalian cells, PCR, western

blotting. After the initial training period, Devangi will be performing these experiments herself, with daily help and input from Dr.

Minto.
