12 hour day shift typically 6 am till 6:30 PM PRN with some on call shifts required. Call is approximately 3-4 weekdays and 2 weekend days in a 3-month period.

Where You Will Work: 

 Atrium Health Union PreSurgery Holding specializes in providing safe, high-quality preoperative and discharge care for patients undergoing surgical procedures across a variety of specialties. Nurses utilize the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to prepare patients for surgery, provide education and support, coordinate care throughout the surgical experience, and ensure patients meet discharge criteria for a safe transition home.

The unit is committed to evidence-based practice and quality improvement initiatives, fostering a culture of safety, collaboration, and patient-centered care. Through close partnership with the interdisciplinary team, Day Surgery staff continually monitor patient outcomes, enhance operational efficiency, and support exceptional surgical experiences for patients and their families.

 We’re Looking For: 

• Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing 

• Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices 

• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association  
• ACLS preferred

What You’ll Do: 

• As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.  

• Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.

Atrium Health Union is a 182-bed hospital in Monroe, NC, providing comprehensive emergency services and specialty medical care. The campus offers a variety of medical services, including a day surgery center, cancer treatment center, long-term care facility, behavioral health center, specialty care clinics, a community wellness and outreach program, a women and children’s center, interventional heart program and physician practices. Over the past 15-plus years our hospital has been serving the Monroe area, and we have worked to add new services and more specialized physicians and programs to meet the growing healthcare needs of our community.
