OVERVIEW
ALO is seeking a brand-new Regional Asset Protection Manager to lead and scale our Asset Protection (AP) function across Australia and New Zealand. This role will be based in Sydney, Australia.
This pivotal role will support the brand’s mission to elevate mindfulness and movement by safeguarding our sanctuaries, teams, and assets. Partnering with global AP leadership and regional counterparts, you will adapt and execute ALO’s global Asset Protection strategy across Australia and New Zealand, tailoring programs to local risks, regulatory requirements, and business needs while maintaining alignment with global standards.
This role will support an expanding retail portfolio and lead omnichannel investigations across retail, e-commerce, fulfilment, and supply chain operations in both markets. You will also partner with the department responsible for Health & Safety to support workplace safety initiatives.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Asset Protection & Omnichannel Investigations
- Adapt and execute ALO’s global AP strategy across Australia and New Zealand, translating global priorities into market-specific action plans.
- Analyze stock loss and shrinkage data across multiple sites and partner with Retail Operations to develop and execute strategies that mitigate internal and external theft, fraud, and operational errors.
- Lead site-specific assessments for high-risk or high-loss locations and deliver action plans that reduce exposure and improve compliance.
- Lead omnichannel investigations across retail stores, e-commerce, fulfilment, and supply chain operations in both markets.
- Investigate internal and external theft, organized retail crime (ORC), employee misconduct, payment and refund fraud, delivery and return fraud, and inventory or shipment losses.
- Use exception-based reporting, transaction and inventory analytics, CCTV, case management systems, and other available technology to identify patterns and connect related activity across channels.
- Partner with Retail Operations, E-commerce, Supply Chain, People & Culture, Legal, and global AP teams to resolve cases, address control gaps, and help prevent recurrence.
Operational Security Oversight
- Conduct site risk assessments and vulnerability reviews across Australia and New Zealand in alignment with global AP standards and applicable local requirements.
- Partner with global leadership to implement security technologies and operational enhancements tailored to each market.
- Manage physical security infrastructure, including CCTV, alarm systems, access controls, and key and safe protocols, in accordance with applicable privacy, data protection, and surveillance requirements.
- Oversee third-party security providers, including guard force management, contract execution, post orders, and service level compliance, to support safety, brand alignment, and cost efficiency.
- Optimize the deployment of external security resources based on risk levels, location needs, foot traffic, and local events.
Incident Response & Case Management
- Respond to critical incidents such as theft, violence, protest activity, vandalism, or emergencies, maintaining situational awareness across Australia and New Zealand.
- Ensure investigations are conducted lawfully and ethically, with appropriate documentation and in partnership with People & Culture and Legal.
- Coordinate with law enforcement, legal advisors, and security vendors in both countries to resolve incidents and help prevent recurrence.
- Partner with the department responsible for Health & Safety on incidents requiring shared response, investigation, or corrective action.
Field Engagement & People Development
- Coach and support store teams on Asset Protection awareness, security protocols, and operational discipline.
- Deliver Asset Protection training for new store openings and existing locations, adapting global training materials to local needs.
- Support the department responsible for Health & Safety with store engagement, safety awareness, incident reporting, and follow-up on identified concerns.
- Build strong relationships with store and regional leadership to support consistent execution of AP programs and shared safety initiatives.
Reporting & Compliance
- Deliver structured monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting on AP trends, KPIs, and incident outcomes to inform strategic decisions.
- Monitor execution of the global AP strategy within both markets, sharing progress, emerging risks, and opportunities with global leadership.
- Partner with Legal and People & Culture to support compliance with applicable licensing, employment, and privacy requirements related to security services.
- Share relevant incident findings and field observations with the department responsible for Health & Safety to support its reporting and corrective actions.
- Remain informed of evolving legal, political, environmental, and social risks that could affect business continuity and employee safety across Australia and New Zealand.
Additional Duties
- Perform other responsibilities, tasks, and assignments as requested, required, or deemed necessary by leadership to support the business and brand mission.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of experience in retail loss prevention, law enforcement, private security, or risk management.
- Minimum 5 years of field-based, multi-site Asset Protection or Loss Prevention experience, preferably within Australia and New Zealand.
- Minimum 2 years of leadership experience overseeing multi-site operations and/or third-party vendor performance.
- Demonstrated ability to translate global strategies and standards into effective local programs.
- Demonstrated experience investigating theft and fraud across retail and digital channels; experience with fulfilment and supply chain investigations preferred.
- Working knowledge of applicable security, privacy, and surveillance requirements across Australia and New Zealand.
- Familiarity with workplace health and safety requirements in both markets, with the ability to support safety initiatives in partnership with the responsible department.
- Exceptional interpersonal, investigative, and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functionally in a fast-paced, scaling retail environment.
- Technologically proficient in MS Office, RFID, CCTV platforms, POS reporting tools, and case management software.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively across Australia and New Zealand, up to 80%.
- Fluency in English required.
The base salary range for this position is $95,000-$115,000 per year which represents the current range for the base salary for this exempt position. Please note that actual salaries will vary based on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. As such, on occasion and when applicable, there is the possibility that the final, agreed-upon base salary may be outside of the upper end of the range. Please also note the range listed is just one component of the company’s total rewards package for exempt employees. Other rewards may include performance bonuses, long term incentives, a PTO policy, and many other progressive benefits.
