As a Reading Specialist at Green Tree School & Services, you will help students develop foundational literacy skills that support lifelong learning. You’ll deliver targeted reading instruction, assess student progress, and collaborate with teachers to build literacy-rich classrooms where every student can grow as a reader and communicator.
What You’ll Need
Master’s degree in Education or related field
Pennsylvania certification as a Reading Specialist (Instructional I or II required)
Minimum of two years of teaching experience, preferably in special education
Knowledge of literacy intervention strategies and individualized reading instruction
Strong communication, collaboration, and data analysis skills
What You’ll Do
Assess student literacy levels and identify instructional needs through screening and diagnostics
Provide individualized and small-group reading instruction to support IEP goals
Collaborate with teachers and paraeducators to model effective literacy strategies
Develop and monitor reading and writing interventions that promote measurable progress
Maintain accurate data, reports, and communication with families and interdisciplinary teams
