Job Description:

Scope

The Repair Technician will perform repair and/or service work for Company products in accordance with prescribed procedures. The job requires using a variety of hand tools and small power tools to take apart and repair the customer’s tools/products.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Read and comprehend repair order information and parts schematics.
• Diagnose the tool by performing a complete function test.
• Soldering components, reading and understanding manuals, utilizing SAP.
• Make decisions as to the feasibility of repairs.
• Work involves the disassembly of units, diagnosis of operating difficulty, location, and replacing worn or defective parts within time in accordance with work instructions.
• Keep records of parts used and provide data for billing and/or warranty information.
• Perform a complete function test to confirm the tool is repaired properly.
• Recognize and report operational irregularities and defective materials.
• Other duties as assigned.

Expectations

• At least 10 repairs per day OR Adjusted efficiency of 80%.
• Skilled and comfortable in at least 2 tool categories.

Education and Experience Requirements

• Prefer an education equivalent to a high school diploma or GED.
• Must have mechanical skills and diagnostic skills.
• High attention to detail.
• Basic computer and writing skills.
• Prefer 1 to 2 years of previous experience in electrical and/or mechanical repair.

Physical Demands

• Standing for long periods of time.
• Repetitive motion.
• Frequent bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling of parts and containers.
• Frequent lifting up to 50lbs – team lifts over 50lbs.
• Able to work in various temperature conditions.

Internal Qualifications

• No final warnings.
• No more than 6 attendance points.
• Efficiency and Quality goals met for the previous 3 months.
