Join Us at the Forefront of Quantum Computing Innovation 🚀
Description of the Team/Project
You will join the QPU Prototyping team, which develops and integrates the optical systems at the heart of Quandela’s quantum processors, turning advanced R&D experiments into operational hardware.
Your project will focus on developing active stabilisation and control methods to maintain QPU performance over extended periods. Working at the intersection of experimental quantum optics, instrumentation, automation and data analysis, you will help transform laboratory demonstrations into stable, reliable and operational QPU subsystems.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Characterise the physical mechanisms and environmental drifts that limit optical-system and QPU performance.
- Develop active feedback methods to stabilise relevant parameters, such as optical phase, polarisation, spectral alignment and timing.
- Select and integrate suitable sensors, actuators, control electronics and measurement equipment.
- Develop software for automated calibration, real-time monitoring, feedback control and experimental data acquisition.
- Optimise system performance and define appropriate metrics, measurement protocols and acceptance criteria.
- Assess long-term stability, robustness and reproducibility through extended experimental campaigns.
- Implement automated methods for detecting and recovering from performance degradation.
- Analyse experimental data, identify limiting factors and propose improvements to the optical and control architectures.
- Document the system and collaborate with other teams to support its transfer into an operational quantum processor.
