Your Impact

As a Quality Assurance Engineering Intern, you’ll work within the Global Merchandising organization to help ensure Lowe’s private brand products meet the highest standards before they reach our customers. You’ll gain hands-on experience in our QA Test Lab—supporting engineers and lab technicians with product testing, results analysis, and process documentation. From evaluating product durability and safety to supporting cross-functional reviews with Merchandising and Compliance teams, you’ll contribute to work that directly impacts product quality and customer trust. This internship offers a unique blend of engineering rigor and retail impact.

What You Will Learn

• Assist in the setup, execution, and documentation of product performance and durability tests in Lowe’s QA Test Lab.
• Work closely with engineers and technicians to analyze results and identify defects or failure points.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives by reviewing lab processes, reporting tools, and quality protocols.
• Learn how test results support merchant decisions, customer satisfaction, and brand confidence.
• Observe how QA collaborates with cross-functional teams including Merchandising, Sourcing, Compliance, and Product Development.
• Gain familiarity with national and industry standards for product testing (e.g., UL, ASTM, ANSI).

Minimum Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Product Design, or a related field.
• Expected graduation date of December 2027 or May 2028.

Preferred Skills/Experience

• 3.0 cumulative GPA or higher.
• Strong technical aptitude and interest in product testing, materials science, or design validation.
• Ability to read and interpret test specifications and engineering documents.
• Familiarity with lab tools and measurement devices is a plus.
• Detail-oriented with strong documentation and reporting skills.
• Comfortable working in hands-on environments such as lab or workshop settings.
• Experience in a leadership position at work or within a campus organization is a plus.
