This role will be located at one of Discovery Land Company’s locations: The Madison Club is set outside of La Quinta, CA.
The Madison Club is seeking a Purchasing & Receiving Clerk to join the Procurement Department.
The Purchasing and Receiving Clerk is responsible for maintaining inventory counts and quality control procedures for all incoming and outgoing product shipments. Their duties include receiving and checking incoming deliveries from vendors against product invoices and purchase orders (PO’s), organizing and storing shipments until they receive outgoing order requests (Requisitions) and notifying management personnel when they don’t have enough of a particular product to fulfill orders. In this role, you will be part of creating the Discovery Land Company experience for our members and fellow employees.

 Key Responsibilities

• Inspect and receive shipments: Check incoming goods for quality, quantity, and temperature (if applicable) to ensure they meet standards
• Unload and store goods: Move and organize products from delivery trucks into the correct storage areas, often coordinating forklifts or other equipment
• Maintain inventory accuracy: Compare delivery contents to purchase orders or invoices, update inventory records, and report discrepancies to management
• Support operations: In some cases, help stock retail floors or loading bays to ensure products are ready for use
• Quality control: Identify and report damaged or defective items to prevent them from being distributed along with contacting vendor to find suitable replacement and resolution.
• Organize, clean and maintain warehouse order: Keep storage areas clean, labeled, and accessible for efficient retrieval

Skills and Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Experience in warehouse or receiving operations (preferred)
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy loads
• Attention to detail and problem-solving ability

 

Work Environment

• Typically works in a warehouse, loading bay, or retail facility environment.
• May involve standing for long periods, lifting heavy items, and working in varying weather conditions.
• Often requires coordination with delivery drivers, warehouse staff, and retail teams. Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy loads (up to 50lbs)

The Company’s good faith estimate of the hourly rate it expects to pay for this role is $23.50 to $24.00 and is based on applicable and specialized experience and location.
