Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership & Technical Oversight

• Serve as the technical lead during engineering and design and the primary technical contact during construction and commissioning.
• Manage engineering scope, schedule, budget, and deliverables in alignment with overall project objectives.
• Coordinate engineering resources across multiple disciplines to support project execution.
• Provide technical oversight and direction to internal engineering teams, designers, consultants, and contractors.
• Work closely with project, engineering, construction, procurement, operations, and site teams to ensure project requirements are aligned.
• Lead design reviews and technical meetings with clients, site personnel, consultants, and key stakeholders.

Engineering & Design Coordination

• Lead multidisciplinary engineering and design activities from concept through detailed design and execution.
• Review engineering deliverables, drawings, specifications, calculations, and technical documentation.
• Coordinate with external engineering consultants and vendors to ensure quality and timely delivery of engineering packages.
• Support procurement activities, including tender preparation, technical bid evaluations, vendor selection, and post-award technical support.
• Coordinate vendor design reviews, shop inspections, factory acceptance testing, and turnover documentation.
• Support project planning, estimates, material takeoffs, and capital funding requests.

Project Execution

• Monitor engineering progress and provide regular reporting on scope, schedule, budget, risks, and deliverables.
• Identify and resolve technical issues throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure engineering activities comply with applicable codes, standards, regulatory requirements, and safety expectations.
• Support construction planning, field execution, commissioning, and start-up activities.
• Provide technical support during construction and commissioning and act as a key engineering point of contact for project teams.
• Work collaboratively with project managers, construction teams, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Professional Engineering designation with APEGS eligibility/registration required.
• 10+ years of engineering experience in mining.
• Proven experience leading engineering activities for capital projects.
• Experience working through multiple phases of the project lifecycle, from engineering and design through construction and commissioning.
• Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary engineering and design teams.
• Experience coordinating engineering consultants, vendors, contractors, and other project stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of applicable engineering codes, standards, and safety requirements.
• Experience supporting procurement activities, including tender preparation, technical evaluations, and vendor reviews.
• Ability to manage engineering scope, schedules, budgets, risks, and project deliverables.
• Strong technical problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multidisciplinary project environment.
