Job Description:

The Project Assistants support the implementation of project activities under the guidance of the Project Officer, contributing to sustainable spiritual nurture of children and households and helping create an environment in which children thrive. The position assists in facilitating capacity building of churches and faith communities for participation in holistic missions, supporting WVIL to achieve its strategic priorities on Children demonstrating signs of Hope rooted in God's Love.

Key Outputs/Responsibilities

Support hands-on faith & development activities at household and church level (30%)

• Conduct community level trainings for churches on faith & development approaches, including Empowered World View, Channels of Hope and Celebrating Families, under the guidance of the Project Officer.

• Support the establishment of church structures and help organise Eco-Theology awareness sessions for environmental sustainability.

• Assist in mobilising households for Savings for Transformation groups and support their regular meetings.

• Implements activities according to layering and sequencing in the Detailed Implementation Plans (DIPs).

Support implementation of spiritual nurture interventions for children (30%)

• Conduct trainings for children's ministry leaders on age-appropriate discipleship programmes.

• Support community and school Bible clubs with logistics and day-to-day facilitation.

• Help maintain records of Registered Children's participation in Spiritual Nurture interventions.

• Conduct exchange learning events and children's Bible camps.

Support monitoring, data collection and reporting for MEAL purposes (20%)

• Utilize standardised data collection tools to timely collect and input data, under the guidance of the Project Officer.

• Tracks physical progress and DIP milestone achievement for assigned activities.

• Collect gender-disaggregated data, photographic and narrative evidence of implementation.

• Enter monitoring data into WVL's MEAL system within five working days of collection.

• Assist in compiling input for monthly, quarterly and annual reports.

Support stakeholder coordination and church engagement (10%)

• Assist in coordinating with stakeholders for effective project support and implementation.

• Accompany the Project Officer to relevant district-level coordination meetings.

• Help maintain positive working relationships between churches, community structures and other stakeholders.

Provide administrative and logistical support (10%)

• Provide local level logistical and administrative support for project activities, trainings and events.

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date filing of project documentation.

• Facilitate timely distribution of project resources at community level as required.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Experience & Technical Skills

Minimum Education, Training and Experience Requirements:

• Diploma in Theology, Education, Development Studies, Social Work, or a closely related field. A Bachelor Degree will be an added advantage.

• Minimum 1-2 years of relevant experience in community development, church mobilisation, or faith-based programming.

• Basic understanding of Faith & Development Models (Celebrating Families, Empowered World View, Channels of Hope) is an advantage.

• Experience working with churches, community structures or grant-funded projects is preferred but not required.

Knowledge/Technical Skills:

• Good self-organisation and time management skills.

• Adaptability, flexibility and willingness to learn and be mentored.

• Honesty and personal integrity, accountability and attention to detail.

• Must be a committed Christian, able to stand above denominational diversities.

• Basic MS Office and digital solutions skills.

• Cross-culturally sensitive, denominationally flexible and emotionally mature.

• Fluency in Sesotho and working knowledge of English (written and oral) required.

Working Environment / Conditions:

• Field-based: 95% field travel and support across the assigned Area Development Programme.

• Office-based: 5% for administrative support and coordination.
