Role/Department:

The Product Owner and FIX Specialist will be part of the Global Brokerage Product team, based in Limerick, and will support the delivery, onboarding and ongoing management of Brokerage products, client connectivity and electronic trading workflows.

The role will focus on coordinating product requirements, supporting complex client implementations and developing specialist knowledge of FIX connectivity across order, execution and allocation workflows.

The key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Support the coordination of Brokerage product, client onboarding and technology delivery activities to meet client, operational and market requirements.
  • Work within the Global Brokerage Product team and partner with Sales, Trading, Operations, Technology and other internal stakeholders to gather, document and clarify business requirements for product initiatives and client implementations.
  • Create and maintain business requirements, functional specifications, process flows, user stories and acceptance criteria, ensuring these are communicated clearly to technology and operational partners.
  • Coordinate FIX onboarding activities for complex clients, working with clients and internal teams to understand required trading workflows, message flows, instruments, markets and implementation requirements.
  • Document client-specific FIX requirements, including order, execution and allocation workflows, required FIX messages, fields, identifiers, configuration requirements and mapping decisions.
  • Act as a key coordination point between clients, Brokerage Product, Sales, Trading, Operations, Technology, FIX connectivity teams and relevant third-party providers throughout the onboarding process.
  • Support FIX onboarding from initial requirements gathering through connectivity, configuration, testing, issue resolution, implementation and early-life support.
  • Coordinate client and internal testing activities, including preparation of test scenarios, tracking of test results, management of outstanding issues and confirmation that agreed requirements have been addressed before implementation.
  • Maintain accurate onboarding documentation, requirements, decisions, actions, risks, issues and implementation status, ensuring ownership and next steps are clearly assigned and followed through to completion.
  • Work with clients and internal partners on product implementation and ongoing maintenance, investigating issues, gathering supporting information and coordinating practical solutions with appropriate business and technology teams.
  • Support the ongoing ownership of assigned Brokerage products, applications and services, including maintenance of product documentation, application records, procedures and governance information.
  • Assist with product risk assessments, procurement activity, application governance, data lineage and other control requirements where these apply to assigned products or client onboarding activities.
  • Coordinate project and onboarding activities to help ensure that agreed milestones, testing dates and implementation schedules are met, including facilitating working sessions across business and technology teams.
  • Provide clear and concise progress updates, highlighting outstanding requirements, dependencies, risks, issues and decisions requiring stakeholder attention.
  • Develop a strong understanding of Brokerage products, client workflows, FIX connectivity and relevant market practices through structured training, practical experience and collaboration with experienced team members.
  • Keep up to date with relevant Brokerage products, client requirements, technology developments and market trends to support effective product ownership and client delivery.
  • Work closely with colleagues across the Global Brokerage Product team, including teams based in London, Chicago and other global locations, to share knowledge, coordinate priorities and provide consistent support for regional and global initiatives.
  • General understanding of business processes, client service, product delivery or technology-enabled change.
  • Interest in Brokerage, financial markets, electronic trading, client connectivity and post-trade workflows.
  • Ability to understand, analyse and document business and client requirements in a clear and structured manner.
  • Awareness of system interfaces, electronic data exchange or trading workflows would be beneficial.
  • Knowledge of FIX Protocol is desirable, although candidates with the aptitude and interest to develop this expertise through training and practical experience will be considered.
  • Ability to learn how FIX messages, fields, identifiers and workflows are used to support electronic trading, client onboarding and end-to-end trade processing.
  • Understanding of project delivery, business analysis, agile delivery and product ownership concepts would be beneficial.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients and colleagues across business, operational and technology functions.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to maintain accurate records, manage actions and support multiple onboarding or delivery activities at the same time.
  • Structured and practical approach to problem solving, with the confidence to raise questions, challenge assumptions and seek guidance where required.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across different locations, functions and time zones as part of a global team.

Skills/Qualifications:

The successful candidate will benefit from having:

  • Previous relevant experience in product support, business analysis, client onboarding, financial operations, electronic trading support, application support, technology delivery or a related discipline.
  • Candidates with less direct experience may also be considered where they can demonstrate strong analytical, organisational and communication skills, together with a clear interest in developing within Brokerage Product and FIX connectivity.
  • Previous experience supporting client implementations, technology change, testing or requirements gathering would be beneficial.
  • Direct experience of FIX Protocol, electronic trading or complex client onboarding is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience within Brokerage, Capital Markets, Asset Management, Investment Banking or another regulated financial services environment would be helpful but is not mandatory.
