    • Conduct Measurement System Analysis (MSA) and gauge R&R studies to validate the accuracy and reliability of all testing and inspection equipment.
  •  Process Monitoring & Statistical Control:
    • Own the Process FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), leading cross-functional teams to identify, evaluate, and proactively mitigate manufacturing risks.
    • Implement Statistical Process Control (SPC) across pilot and commercial production lines to monitor manufacturing stability and yield.
    • Analyze manufacturing data to identify trends, process drifts, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Non-Conformance & Root Cause Analysis:
    • Lead cross-functional investigations into non-conformances (NCRs), out-of-specification (OOS) results, and customer returns.
    • Drive structured problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams) to identify root causes.
    • Design, execute, and verify Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) to prevent recurrence.
  • Quality Management Systems (QMS):
    • Assist in building, auditing, and maintaining compliance with ISO 9001 and potentially IATF 16949 standards.
    • Write, review, and control Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
    • Conduct internal audits and collaborate with external auditors and suppliers on quality standards.
  • Supplier Quality:
    • Collaborate with supplier quality teams to qualify new suppliers and raw materials.
    • Review supplier quality documentation (CoAs, SPC data) and conduct supplier performance reviews.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (e.g., electrical, manufacturing), or general science (e.g., chemistry) or a related field AND 3+ years of related experience OR master’s degree in engineering (e.g., electrical, manufacturing), or general science (e.g., chemistry) or a related field AND 1+ years of related experience
  • Experience: 3+ years of direct experience in quality engineering within an advanced manufacturing environment (e.g., composites, adhesives, semiconductors, chemicals, aerospace, automotive, or similar).
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong proficiency in applying quality methodologies and tools (SPC, FMEA, Control Plans, MSA/Gage R&R, DoE).
    • Experience writing SOPs and maintaining documentation within an established QMS.
    • Hands-on experience with laboratory testing equipment and industrial metrology.
  • Problem Solving: Demonstrated expertise in root cause analysis and implementing effective CAPAs.
  • Communication: Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex quality data clearly to engineering and management teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Direct experience in lithium-ion or lithium-sulfur battery manufacturing, cell testing, or nanomaterials processing.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
  • Experience with ISO 9001:2015 and/or IATF 16949 compliance and auditing.
