Sobre este puesto de Principal Technical Business Analyst- Retail Strategy en Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions - External
Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions is seeking a Principal Business Analyst to serve as the senior analytical and advisory lead on our largest client engagements. In this role, you will facilitate executive-level workshops to define scope and uncover the "why" behind client needs, not just the "what," and you will become a trusted partner to major clients. You will also lead and mentor the business analysts assigned to your accounts: setting the analysis approach, delegating requirements work, and reviewing deliverables for quality and consistency. When project complexity or project needs demands it, you will step in and author requirements yourself.
Our organization provides software solutions for some of the world’s largest retailers, partnering with brands like Kroger, Amazon, Meijer and Costco to deliver innovative consumer experiences leveraging a wide range of technologies.
As a Principal Business Analyst, you will be part of a cross-functional team responsible for planning, developing, and releasing software solutions to market. You will build and nurture key relationships with product, program management, business partners, and supporting groups to ensure the timely release of solutions that meet demanding customer expectations.
This position requires strong retail knowledge and a solid technical background, along with experience in Agile software development and an understanding of traditional waterfall methodologies. The role is client facing and calls for a deep understanding of the requirements and business drivers behind Toshiba's products and solutions, as well as the ability to guide other analysts in applying that understanding.
Responsibilities of the Principal Technical Business Analyst:
Client Leadership
- Lead large, complex client engagements, ensuring business requirements are clear, achievable, and aligned to the value the project must deliver for both the client and Toshiba.
- Build strong relationships and serve as a trusted advisor to the client and the project team.
- Conduct interviews, surveys, and workshops with client stakeholders to understand the "what" and the "why" behind their business needs.
- Advocate for Toshiba's core product and guide clients in their decision making, using existing functionality wherever it can meet a need and reduce project scope.
- Manage scope by identifying and calling out changes and lead scope conversations with the client.
Requirements and Scope
- Own the definition and documentation of project scope, drawing on sales and client artifacts, workshop findings, and your knowledge of the core product.
- Analyze client business requirements to determine the best approach to meeting each need (for example, existing functionality or a new feature).
- Analyze and document highly complex requirements, translating client needs into product requirements that include unhappy paths, edge cases, and the impact of the change on other areas of the system.
- Create and maintain requirements documentation that clearly conveys what is changing and why, from both the client and product perspectives.
- Use approved AI tools to draft, refine, and standardize requirements documentation and user stories, expediting the documentation process. Review and validate all AI-generated content for accuracy and alignment with client needs and system behavior before sharing it, and remain accountable for the quality of every deliverable.
Team Leadership
- Direct, mentor, and review the work of business analysts on your projects, coaching them to produce requirements that are fit for both the client and the product.
- Manage the client backlog as lead project BA, maintaining a clear view of gaps, priorities, and the milestones each feature supports.
Delivery
- Monitor project progress and address issues as they arise.
- Support the development team during the build phase.
- Review and approve test cases and scenarios and execute UAT to confirm solutions meet business requirements.
- Research client questions on functionality using test systems, internal AI tooling, documentation, or SMEs as needed.
- Maintain deep expertise in Toshiba systems and retail, serving as a system SME for your accounts.
Department Development
- Lead major process improvement for the BA team by defining best practices, driving special projects, and mentoring other business analysts.
- Support change management for new processes and procedures within the BA team and the Professional Services organization.
