This position provides senior-level systems engineering leadership for enterprise database administration platforms, internal tools, and compliance-related applications. The role is responsible for ensuring reliable application operations, modernizing automation and delivery processes, strengthening security and access controls, and maintaining critical database administration support tools in alignment with business, operational, audit, and regulatory requirements.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

Typical responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

• Application and Platform Ownership

Provide technical ownership and ongoing support for database administration applications, internal tools, and related platforms. This includes ensuring operational stability, managing application lifecycle activities, maintaining documentation, supporting governance processes, coordinating certifications, and monitoring overall platform health and performance metrics.

• Modernization and Delivery

Lead or support technology transformation initiatives, including migrating legacy tools and workflows to approved enterprise platforms, adopting modern automation and CI/CD capabilities, and integrating solutions with enterprise service management, identity, and access management platforms.

• Security, Access, and Compliance Support

Coordinate security remediation efforts, access reviews, compliance evidence collection, audit support, control validation, vulnerability response, and related governance activities to help ensure platforms and applications remain secure, compliant, and audit-ready.

• Automation and Tool Engineering

Design, develop, maintain, and enhance scripts, workflows, integrations, and internal tools that improve operational efficiency, reduce manual effort, strengthen supportability, and enable consistent, repeatable delivery of database administration services.

• Resiliency and Operational Readiness

Support disaster recovery testing, recovery control validation, troubleshooting, process documentation, operational reporting, and continuous improvement for applications and tools used by database administration teams.

Job Contribution

This role is recognized as a senior technical contributor and subject matter expert for business-critical systems engineering functions. The individual works independently on complex assignments, leads technical problem-solving efforts across multiple platforms, collaborates with application, security, audit, identity, and service management teams, and provides guidance to peers and stakeholders.

The role is expected to influence technical direction, proactively identify operational and compliance risks, and help ensure continuity of critical database administration support services.

Education and Experience

A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field is preferred.

Typically requires 7 or more years of relevant experience in systems engineering, application support, platform ownership, automation, DevOps, access governance, security remediation, audit compliance, or enterprise technology operations.

Preferred experience includes:

• Scripting and workflow automation
• CI/CD tools and practices
• Enterprise service management platforms
• Identity and access management processes
• Compliance controls and audit support
• Disaster recovery testing
• Application lifecycle management

Relevant certifications may be required or preferred based on business needs.
