A Day in the Life

This role is part of the Quality function and supports enterprise-wide quality systems implementations across Medtronic. The team partners with business leaders, process owners, subject matter experts, and program teams to enable successful deployment of large-scale systems and digital transformation initiatives. Through training, change readiness, and implementation support, the function helps ensure employees are prepared to adopt new processes and systems while maintaining compliance with quality and regulatory requirements.

This position is based in Mounds View, Minnesota and follows an onsite work model with a minimum of four days per week in the office. Up to 20% travel may be required to support implementation activities, stakeholder engagement, and deployment readiness efforts.

         

         

The Principal Quality Systems Specialist - Training Delivery Lead leads learning, training, and user readiness activities that support large-scale enterprise system implementations. This role partners across multiple functions to coordinate implementation readiness, align training deliverables to deployment timelines, and ensure employees are equipped to successfully adopt new systems and processes. The position plays a key role in mitigating deployment risk, supporting compliance requirements, and enabling successful system adoption across the organization.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead learning and implementation readiness activities for enterprise programs, including integrated plans, milestones, deliverables, dependencies, and risk management.

  • Partner with program teams, process owners, subject matter experts, change management, communications, vendors, and learning resources to align training deliverables with business objectives and deployment schedules.

  • Conduct audience analysis and role mapping to identify training needs and establish learning strategies that support user readiness.

  • Coordinate the development, delivery, and tracking of instructor-led training, eLearning, virtual learning, and other learning solutions.

  • Monitor training completion, learner readiness metrics, and implementation status to provide accurate reporting and support deployment decisions.

  • Apply quality system requirements to ensure training plans, records, and implementation activities remain compliant, effective, and audit-ready.

  • Provide guidance on quality processes, policies, and regulatory requirements to support compliant implementation and adoption activities.

  • Support post-launch sustainment activities, including issue resolution, reinforcement planning, and continuous improvement of learning programs.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with 7+ years of experience in Quality, Learning and Development, Quality Systems, Program Implementation, or another regulated industry environment; OR an advanced degree with 5+ years of related experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting or leading training, learning, or user readiness initiatives for system implementations, process transformations, or enterprise programs.

  • Experience working within regulated environments subject to quality, compliance, or regulatory requirements.

  • Experience coordinating cross-functional stakeholders and managing deliverables across multiple workstreams.

  • Experience leading learning workstreams for large-scale system implementations such as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), or other enterprise technology deployments.

  • Hands-on experience designing, developing, or managing multiple learning solutions, including instructor-led training, eLearning, and virtual learning programs.

  • Ability to assess the training impact of business process or system changes and translate findings into effective learning strategies and readiness plans.

  • Experience owning end-to-end learning program delivery from strategy and planning through execution, measurement, and sustainment.

  • Knowledge of Learning Management Systems (LMS), Cornerstone OnDemand (CSOD), change readiness methodologies, and training effectiveness measurement.

For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$115,200.00 - $172,800.00

 

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).

 

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to all regular employees: Incentive plans, 401(k) plan plus employer contribution and match, Short-term disability, Paid time off, Paid holidays, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, Employee Assistance Program, Non-qualified Retirement Plan Supplement (subject to IRS earning minimums), and Capital Accumulation Plan (available to Vice Presidents and above, or subject to IRS earning minimums).

 

Regular employees are those who are not temporary, such as interns.  Temporary employees are eligible for paid sick time, as required under applicable state law, and the Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Please note some of the above benefits may not apply to workers in Puerto Rico.
