PermanentABOUT THE JOB
The Practice Engineer plays a key role in understanding the needs of architecture practitioners and translating those needs into meaningful improvements across tools, processes, data and platform capabilities. Working closely with architects, stakeholders and delivery teams, the role helps shape and deliver solutions that improve practitioner experience, productivity and the overall effectiveness of the Architecture Practice.
Combining software development, AI-assisted engineering, platform delivery support and quality assurance, the Practice Engineer contributes to the evolution of internal tooling and ServiceNow APM capabilities. The role partners across teams in Australia and Vietnam to deliver practical, user-focused solutions that improve how architecture services are managed, supported and consumed.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Essential Capabilities
Strong software engineering background with hands-on application development experience.
Proven experience working with source control and code repository management tools (e.g. Git).
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with a strong command of English.
Ability to present technical concepts and solutions clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across distributed and cross-functional teams.
Strong attention to engineering quality, best practices, and continuous improvement.
Desirable Capabilities
Experience with AI-assisted development tools, internal engineering platforms, or developer productivity tooling.
Exposure to AI-enabled engineering practices and automation solutions.
Experience with ServiceNow or similar enterprise workflow platforms.
Understanding of modern software delivery practices, DevOps, and Agile ways of working.
Experience
Proven experience in software engineering, application development, or platform engineering roles.
Hands-on experience with software development lifecycle (SDLC), coding, testing, and deployment practices.
Experience working with Git-based repositories and collaborative development workflows.
Experience contributing to engineering standards, technical governance, or developer enablement initiatives.
Exposure to enterprise-scale technology environments and engineering practices.
Experience presenting technical solutions, architecture concepts, or engineering approaches to stakeholders.
