Terran Orbital is seeking an experienced PLM Administrator to join our dynamic team. Reporting to the IT Manager, the PLM Administrator will be responsible for administering and enhancing our PTC Windchill environment and ensuring seamless integration across CAD (Creo, SolidWorks), CAE (ANSYS/Keysight), MES (Aegis), and enterprise systems (Microsoft D365). The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced aerospace environment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Administer and support PTC Windchill, including user access, data structures, lifecycles, and workflows.
- Configure and troubleshoot integrations between Windchill and tools such as Creo, SolidWorks, ANSYS, Microsoft D365, and Aegis MES.
- Implement and maintain workflows, migrate legacy documents/CAD files, and support process improvements.
- Perform routine system maintenance, including performance tuning, updates, patches, and backups.
- Develop and maintain basic scripts/automation to improve data flow and reduce manual effort.
- Provide technical support to engineering and manufacturing teams for PLM-related issues.
- Recommend enhancements and efficiency improvements to PLM processes and configurations.
- Ensure compliance with applicable aerospace and regulatory standards, including ITAR and AS9100.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and ensure PLM capabilities align with organizational needs.
- Take ownership of assigned tasks and follow through to completion.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field OR equivalent combination of education and 5+ years of directly relevant PLM experience.
- 5+ years of experience administering PLM systems, ideally PTC Windchill, or equivalent experience installing, developing, upgrading, and maintaining PLM platforms.
- In-depth knowledge of formal Engineering Change Procedures.
- Thorough understanding of PLM usage, configurations, and best practices.
- Familiarity with CAD/CAE tools such as PTC Creo, SolidWorks, Keysight, and ANSYS.
- Experience supporting or integrating ERP and/or MES systems such as Microsoft D365 and Aegis.
- Familiarity with PCB design tools (Zuken, Altium Designer).
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Proficiency working across Windows and Linux environments.
- Strong customer service orientation and ability to communicate effectively with diverse teams.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage workload priorities, and execute tasks with minimal supervision.
- Knowledge of software installation practices across Windows and Linux systems.
- U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
- 5+ years of hands-on PTC Windchill experience in an aerospace or defense environment.
- Scripting/automation skills in Python, Shell, and/or Java.
- Experience working within regulated environments such as ITAR, DoD programs, or FAA-regulated spaces.
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable information.
- Passion for space and advanced technology.
