Job Description:
The Perfusionist is responsible for the set up and operation of extracorporeal and related devices used in cardiac surgery. Conduct tests on pulmonary or cardiovascular systems of patients for diagnostic purposes. Performs or directs others to perform appropriate tests prior to bypass. Monitors and records patients' physiologic functions/requirements and reports effectiveness of care to other team members. The Perfusionist supervises and trains other cardiology technologists and students.Education: ▪ Required: Graduate of an accredited Perfusion Education Program OR MO Licensed Clinical Perfusionist Experience: ▪ Preferred: 3-5 years' perfusion experience Skills: ▪ Strong analytical/problem solving skills. ▪ Ability to communicate effectively with different levels of management. ▪ Excellent time management, interpersonal, communication, presentation, organization, prioritizing, decision-making, and planning skills. ▪ Ability to make routine decisions in accordance with departmental policies and procedures. ▪ Self Starter. Licensure/Certification/Registration: ▪ Required: MO Clinical Perfusionist or Provisional Perfusionist License. Must obtain Permanent Clinical Perfusionist license within 1 year of hire ▪ Required: Certification by American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion within one year of hire.
