Sobre este puesto de People Ops Associate en Monumental
Monumental is automating on-site construction with robotics and software. Our mission is to make construction software-defined and autonomous - a future where beautiful, bespoke buildings go up in a single day, with minimal labour.
We're a growing team of engineers, operators and technicians from diverse backgrounds, including consumer tech, finance and media, and companies like Dyson, Shopify, Meta and Tesla. It's still the early days of building the company, and this is a chance to make an outsized impact on a problem that matters. From day one, you'll be working with an experienced founding team, backed by a $32M Series B led by Khosla Ventures and Plural, alongside other renowned investors.
Monumental is based in the city centre of Amsterdam, in a beautiful facility with a fully equipped workshop and robot testing floor. We build the whole stack in-house, hardware and software. Our work involves building robots in our workshop and houses on real construction sites, so we're onsite five days a week.

About the role
We’re looking for a People Ops Associate to help run the day-to-day people operations behind Monumental. You’ll work closely with our People Ops team, supporting colleagues from their first day to their last and keeping our HR administration accurate and up to date.
This is a role for someone near the start of their career who already has hands-on experience in People Ops or HR in the Netherlands. Fluent Dutch, spoken and written, and experience with Dutch HR processes are hard requirements. You don’t need a background in robotics or construction.
Your work will help new colleagues get started properly, employees get clear answers and the company keep people records it can trust. Some tasks are repetitive and require patience. You’ll also improve the processes behind them, so recurring problems get fixed.
Your focus will be People Ops: onboarding and offboarding, employment administration, employee questions and the practical processes that keep a growing team running. As you learn the business, you’ll take on greater responsibility within People Ops.
What you'll do
Run onboarding and offboarding. Coordinate paperwork, start dates, introductions and checklists with the relevant teams. Make sure new colleagues have what they need and departures are handled carefully and on time.
Keep HR administration accurate. Prepare and track employment documents and contract changes, maintain employee records and follow up on missing information or upcoming deadlines.
Support Dutch people processes. Keep leave and absence records up to date, coordinate the employee changes and information needed for payroll, and support routine HR processes under the guidance of the People Ops team.
Be a helpful point of contact. Answer practical questions from colleagues in Dutch and English, communicate clearly with external HR providers and flag sensitive or complex issues to the right person.
Improve how we work. Spot recurring errors, document processes and use HR systems and software to reduce manual work while protecting employee information and checking the results carefully.
What we're looking for
Fluent Dutch, spoken and written (required). You can independently handle employee questions, HR documents and communication with Dutch service providers. You’re also comfortable working in English with our international team.
Hands-on People Ops or HR experience in the Netherlands (required). You’ve worked with Dutch HR administration and employment processes, such as contracts, onboarding, leave or absence administration and payroll inputs. This is a junior role, but it is not a first introduction to Dutch HR.
Accuracy you take responsibility for. You check contracts and employee records against the agreed details before sharing them, including names, dates, working hours and compensation. You ask when something is unclear, catch mistakes in your own work and use feedback to prevent them from recurring.
Sound prioritisation and follow-through. You organise your work around deadlines and the impact on employees and the business. You can distinguish a contract needed for tomorrow’s starter from admin that can wait, clarify trade-offs when requests compete and keep people informed until the work is finished.
A helpful, hands-on attitude. You’re happy to help with the practical work that makes People Ops run: scanning documents, giving a new colleague an office tour or moving employee records into our HR system. You bring the same care and friendly manner to routine requests as to larger projects.
Clear communication and discretion. You’re approachable and responsive with colleagues, ask questions when needed and handle confidential employee information carefully.
Comfort with HR systems and spreadsheets. You’re willing to learn new tools and interested in finding better ways to do recurring work.
Nice to have: experience in a growing company or improving an HR process. You don’t need to have done every task listed here, but Dutch fluency and Dutch People Ops or HR experience are essential.
What you’ll gain
You’ll learn how People Ops supports a company that designs, manufactures and deploys its own robots. Working closely with the People Ops team, you’ll build experience across the employee lifecycle and develop your ability to solve practical HR problems, improve processes and take responsibility for more complex work.
