What you’ll do
This role sits at the intersection of People Operations and Workplace Experience for our Paris/Berlin/Barcelona office. You will act as a critical “boots on the ground” partner, ensuring core HR operations for the EMEA team run smoothly while helping build a strong, engaging in-office culture during a period of rapid growth for EMEA.
You’ll own high-volume, detail-oriented work (onboarding, offboarding, payroll inputs, benefits) while also identifying opportunities to improve and automate processes as we scale. As part of the EMEA team, you will help with our build-out as well as opportunities to contribute to broader EMEA people operations work supporting the Region.
This is hybrid based in Berlin ( 4 days a week)
Responsibilities:
Own onboarding and offboarding end-to-end, ensuring a seamless employee experience
Serve as the primary POC for HR inquiries; manage ticketing system with timely, high-quality responses
Maintain accurate HRIS and payroll data (incl. EOR), run audits, and manage data changes
Support payroll processes, including commissions and bonuses by auditing inputs and resolving discrepancies
Administer benefits programs and support ongoing rollout; ensure compliance with the relevant regulations for the markets that you are supporting.
You will oversee day-to-day office operations (supplies, vendors, access, equipment, general upkeep)
Act as a front-of-house presence: greet visitors, manage deliveries, coordinate with building management
Support and execute employee engagement initiatives (events, monthly celebrations, quarterly offsites)
Help build and scale a strong in-office culture as the office grows
Identify inefficiencies in manual workflows and drive process documentation, improvements, automation and AI
Gather employee feedback (surveys, onboarding check-ins, day-to-day interactions) and translate it into action
Who you are
We're looking for people who meet the minimum qualifications for this role. The preferred qualifications are great to have, but are not mandatory.
Minimum qualifications:
Foundational Generalist experience in People Operations / HR in a high-growth, fast-paced environment
Have a passion for culture and team building, you love bringing people together, and are excited to be a culture champion in a growing organization
Strong working knowledge of local HR practices, particularly benefits and compliance
Hands-on, detail-oriented operator who is comfortable owning admin-heavy workflows
Experience supporting payroll processes (incl. variable comp like commissions/bonuses)
Confident managing ambiguity and building processes from scratch
Preferred skills:
Proficiency with a startup tech stack – Slack, Zoom, Lattice, Atlassian (Jira/Confluence), Google suite
Familiarity with various HRIS, EOR, or payroll platforms (BambooHR, Deel, etc.)
Exposure to workplace experience/office operations in a hybrid environment
