Job Description

In this nursing role, as a Pediatric Shift Nurse you will have scheduled shifts to care for patients. You will work with patients within pediatric ages with differing complexity of care needs and play a key role in helping patients remain comfortable.

This role includes Part time and Full time opportunities within the following areas: Thornhill, Richmond Hill, Maple Concord, Maple, Keswick, Beeton, and Markham.

Overnight part time shifts are: 10:00pm-6:00am OR 11:00pm-7:00am.

Day full time split shift is: 12:00pm-4:00pm and 8:00pm-11:00pm

What you’ll do: 

• Using appropriate assessment tools/techniques to assess patients’ individualized needs 
• Executing and continuously monitor care plans  
• Engaging patients using a collaborative approach by building rapport and trust 
• Maintaining and update professional patient records related to patient encounters and plans 

What you bring: 

• Registration with the CNO as a Nurse in good standing 
• Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle is required 
• Experience in Pediatric care is mandatory
• Experience in delivering community care is an asset 
• Clinical skills in gastric feed, tracheostomy, and ventilation care is required
• Reliability and flexibility  
• Willingness to travel to and from patient residences within a designated area 
• Passion for making a difference in your community 
• Required on-call coverage, including after hours to ensure patient safety and to meet patient care needs
