The Purpose
As a Payments Operations Analyst, you'll play a key role in supporting the operational integrity and performance of Australia's payments ecosystem. Working within our Operations & Delivery team, you'll help ensure payment systems run smoothly, support the onboarding of new members and provide ongoing operational support to existing participants.
This role combines operational analysis, incident management and stakeholder engagement to help maintain resilient, high-performing payment services. You'll work across teams to resolve issues, improve processes and deliver an exceptional experience for our members, while contributing to the continuous improvement of one of Australia's most critical payment infrastructures.
This role is responsible for:
- Supporting the operational performance and availability of AP+'s payment systems and services.
- Analysing operational data and producing reporting that drives informed decision-making and continuous improvement.
- Supporting the onboarding of new members and providing operational assistance to existing participants.
- Investigating, managing and coordinating the resolution of operational incidents, problems and application issues.
- Contributing to operational risk management, quality assurance activities and compliance with internal standards.
- Identifying trends, root causes and opportunities to improve operational processes and service performance.
- Working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to resolve enquiries, manage issues and maintain strong working relationships.
- Maintaining operational documentation and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the Payments Operations function.
To be successful in this role you'll need to demonstrate:
- Experience in an Operations Analyst, Payments Operations or similar operational support role.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret operational data, identify trends and recommend improvements.
- Experience supporting live applications, incident management and operational problem resolution.
- Knowledge of payment systems, financial services or technology environments would be highly regarded.
- An understanding of operational risk, quality assurance and continuous improvement principles.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across business and technical teams.
- A proactive approach, strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent industry experience, with approximately four or more years' experience in a comparable operations role.
