Department Summary

Vanderbilt’s Asthma, Sinus and Allergy Program provides comprehensive, multidisciplinary care for patients with asthma, allergies, sinus conditions, and complex immunologic disorders. Our team delivers personalized evaluations, advanced diagnostic testing, and customized treatment plans tailored to each patient's unique needs. As part of a leading academic medical center and the Vanderbilt Lung Institute, patients have access to expert specialists, innovative therapies, clinical research opportunities, infusion services, and advanced treatments not widely available in community settings. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Proficiently performs all Associate Patient Service Specialist job responsibilities.
• Schedules appointments and procedures through clinical communication, work queues, and patient portal messages
• Manages registration and patient work queues.
• Coordinates with patients and/or outside facilities to ensure all pre-appointment orders and consults have been received and ready to view prior to patient visit.
• Communicates with patients through the patient portal using critical decision making to route appropriately as applicable.

TECHNICAL CAPABILITIES

• PATIENT SCHEDULING (Novice): The ability to coordinate and schedule patient appointments, procedures and other office visits with various computer systems in the hospital or clinic.

• APPOINTMENT & PRODECURAL SCHEDULING (Fundamental Awareness): The ability to coordinate and schedule diagnostic testing and procedures within various computer systems in the hospital.
