Our Global Ops Team ⭐️
At Monzo, our customers should receive great service regardless of where it is delivered. As our UK and EU operations grow, we need clear direction and dedicated leadership to turn our partner estate strategy into customer, quality and commercial outcomes.
The Partner Strategy and Delivery Lead exists to define the direction, priorities and focus areas for the Partner Strategy and Delivery pillar. You will translate Monzo’s wider goals and agreed estate principles into a coherent portfolio of work, create the conditions required for delivery and influence the wider business to enable successful outcomes.
Delivery is expected at every level within the pillar. In this role, most of your time will be spent defining what the team should focus on, why it matters and what success looks like, then enabling and assuring delivery through the wider team and business.
You will lead a team of 5 senior/mid-senior colleagues. You may also directly lead or intervene in the most material, complex or sensitive activity where senior ownership is required.
🔑 You’ll play a key role by...
Strategy, direction and portfolio focus
- Strategic alignment & roadmap execution: Translate Monzo and GCOO objectives into a clear partner estate strategy, establishing actionable roadmaps, governance frameworks, and supporting strategies aligned with operational goals.
- Portfolio governance & resource prioritisation: Direct the initiative portfolio—prioritising, sequencing, and resourcing high-impact workstreams—setting success guardrails while dynamically rebalancing capacity against changing business needs.
- Cross-operational strategic leadership: Leverage insights across the live estate to identify emerging themes, leading cross-functional priorities and driving strategic alignment across Global Operations.
Partner estate and thematic agenda
- Estate optimisation & market strategy: Evaluate the global partner estate holistically to resolve systemic operational themes, leverage market trends, and sponsor recommendations across location strategy, footprint changes, and operating models.
- Strategic sourcing leadership: Act as senior business accountable lead for major RFIs, RFPs, and partner selection, ensuring sourcing decisions balance operational, commercial, risk, and customer requirements.
- Cross-functional strategy integration: Partner with Partner Estate & Relationship Management and Global Ops leaders to translate performance insights, contractual trends, and estate capabilities into aligned strategic priorities.
Strategic influence and business enablement
- Executive alignment & business cases: Align GCOO and Operations leadership on strategic priorities, framing clear trade-offs, building robust business cases, and establishing direction across ambiguous organizational boundaries.
- Product & tech partnership: Collaborate with Product and Technology teams to advocate for process and system optimisations, delivering credible data on customer, operational, and commercial impact.
- Senior external representation: Represent Monzo with executive stakeholders at existing and prospective partners during critical sourcing, mobilisation, and strategic delivery programs.
Delivery leadership and outcome assurance
- Estate governance & enablement: Establish clear mandates and standards across the partner estate, guiding project leads to define solutions while intervening on complex barriers to ensure focus on delivered outcomes over activity completion.
- Strategic oversight & high-impact delivery: Monitor cross-program risks, resolve competing priorities, and directly lead high-sensitivity or complex initiatives requiring senior stakeholder navigation.
- Outcome sustainability & framework refinement: Retain accountability for strategic initiatives until full BAU transfer, leveraging delivery outcomes and key learnings to continuously refine future frameworks and estate decisions.
Leadership and team development
- Team leadership & capability development: Lead and develop high-performing team, setting meaningful goals, coaching on strategic and commercial capabilities, and fostering an environment of proactive ownership and psychological safety.
- Empowered delegation & resource management: Delegate program ownership effectively while maintaining oversight of quality and risks, dynamically reallocating team capacity to align with shifting business priorities.
- On-site strategic execution: Travel periodically within the UK and internationally to direct high-stakes partner selection, mobilisation, transitions, and executive program delivery.
